Harte Subaru in Hartford, Ct

Just letting you Connecticut folks know, they have opened up. Brand new site, supposedly the largest Subaru dealershup in the country at least by building footprint.

It's is big and clean and they're looking for business. They probably only had about 50 service folders on the shelves.

Got a free oil change from them today, I had been in there a few weeks ago so I guess I got on their mailing list.

They did the oil change and also did a once over on the car and estimates for repair. My 98 S is weeping oil from just about everywhere. They gave an estimate to fix these (oil cooler, valve covers, and another big one I can't think of as well as belts) of about $1200 less the 15% coupon for parts and labor that came with the oil change coupon. And also fix teh rattling heat sheilds.

I'm probably going to get the work done in the next few weeks. I'll let you know how the major sevice went.

The estimate sounded about right - $100 parts and $1100 to get at them

I was considering using them for our subies in the future...convienent from my work. However, I have mixed feelings on using a brand new sevice dept.... Not sure I want them learning on my car!!

Let us know how they treat you if you decide to use them.

It may not be a learning situation for them.

When another Suby dealer opened in town I lost a great tech to them. He did not get along with our service manager (and our service manager did not get along with him) but he was extremely thorough and did excellent work.

Just playing devils advocate here

It's real velour. Just let yourself go!

Whereabouts are they? Not that I'm having trouble with Curry in Chicopee, but having a 2nd-in-line (I just don't like Bertera) would be good.

Danke! That looks like it's right after the dump curve near where Hartford Jai Alai used to be.

So here's the damage...

Replace v-belt and ac belt -$102
Replace all cam seals -$632
Replace Oil Cooler O-Ring -$141
Replace Valve cover gaskets - $274
Repair Heat shield rattles -$10

For a grand total of $1074 after discount

At least the car doesn't rattle any more, and the wife feels better about driving the older car.
