I have 2010 Subaru Forester with the typical (boring) instrument panel. In particular, what I really dislike is the tiny chep-looking black on white LCD panel
I was wondering if this one would fit into 2010 Forester
...it is apparently from 2012 Impreza.
I like the inverted LCD display in the middle and the white color of the dial (my Forester is white too). If it could work it would be a great fit. Any thoughts? If not, what would be the closeset thing and how can I get it?
Just on that bit. Years ago I took apart a cheap LCD calculator to clean it and noticed if I flipped the front piece of plastic that covered the display, it inverted it. I suppose it's polarised? Not sure if it's at all possible in your situation to try that.
I tried to look but cannot find the touring instrument cluster anywhere. I called a few Subaru service centers and they all say the same - they can only find the replacement parts if I give them my VIN number which, of course, defeats the purpose because they are finding the exact same instrument cluster that I have. Anyone could direct me to the link or a store in the Northeast where I can purchase it or have it installed?
I have a 2011 subaru forester x premium i want to swap out the ugly blue cluster with a 2012 subaru forester xt touring instrument cluster would it be plug and play or whats needed to do the swap
ive attached an iimage of what the new one looks like. if i have to get extra parts for the install can you tell me which ones i need.
Oooh!! This is the thread I'm looking for! I have the boring cluster on my 2012 X...Looking to swap for the "Touring" cluster gauge. I have a manual transmission...would it still be just a straight "plug and play"?
