Inverted LCD instrument cluster for 2010 Forester

Hello,

I have 2010 Subaru Forester with the typical (boring) instrument panel. In particular, what I really dislike is the tiny chep-looking black on white LCD panel

I was wondering if this one would fit into 2010 Forester
...it is apparently from 2012 Impreza.

I like the inverted LCD display in the middle and the white color of the dial (my Forester is white too). If it could work it would be a great fit. Any thoughts? If not, what would be the closeset thing and how can I get it?

@myforesteristhebest you should look into the 2011-2013 Forester Touring cluster. I think they will be a straight swap.

Oh look another item for my wanted list.

I see that Touring cluster has a temperature gauge, I wonder if that would function on a car that didn't have a temp gauge...

Just on that bit. Years ago I took apart a cheap LCD calculator to clean it and noticed if I flipped the front piece of plastic that covered the display, it inverted it. I suppose it's polarised? Not sure if it's at all possible in your situation to try that.

Obviously doesn't affect the dials!

I think it would because the car still monitors the coolant temperature - it just only reports out through the idiot lights. My AP shows the actual coolant temperature value.

the touring cluster also shows what gear youre in, even when using the paddle shifting. racecar.

but, it is annoying how im teased as i can see there is also spots intended for "S", "S#", etc...things found on the tS model.

I tried to look but cannot find the touring instrument cluster anywhere. I called a few Subaru service centers and they all say the same - they can only find the replacement parts if I give them my VIN number which, of course, defeats the purpose because they are finding the exact same instrument cluster that I have. Anyone could direct me to the link or a store in the Northeast where I can purchase it or have it installed?
