The same question regarding an SH model came up in another thread recently, and nobody was able to provide an answer there either. The mod that Bobby (2.5x_sleeper) came up with for SG did not apply. The relays were all different.

It's going to still take a while to sort out the differences.

Someone is going to have to invest in the wiring diagrams for the later model.

OK, old thread but here is how to make the console and rear outlet on all the time on an 08. As mentioned before, fuse box has a number of rectangular relays on the right side and 2 more on the left. The lower one on the left is the one on mine. Verify it by turning the ignition on and off and feel the click. Remove the relay and jumper as described in earlier posts. On mine it was the two copper colored tabs on the relay that needed jumpered. There are 4 total. You want to jumper the 2 wide ones together. If there is any doubt you can verify with an ohm meter from the lighter socket to the relay socket. Of course this would still be for low current applications and make sure you have an extra fuse too. Now I can plug in my LED light in the cargo area and not have to fiddle with the ignition. Enjoy.

Perhaps my project write up here with pictures will help.

NICE write up and pictures. If I had found this I would not have added my .02, just a thank you.

The more posts the better & it may help the next member trying to do this MOD.

Reading through this thread, I notice there's no mention of how to do this with an SF. Has anyone? I'm definitely interested in the lighter being always-on.

A quick look at the diagram says that it would be a challenge to do this for the front (lighter) socket in an SF (pre-2003) model. The outlet goes directly to the ignition switch via a fuse (#4 in the fuse block down by the driver's feet) that's shared with quite a few other devices. So there's no nice handy relay that could be bypassed to keep it on, as there is with the rear socket. I think the easiest thing would just be to run a dedicated wire straight to the battery via an appropriate fuse.

I know its an old thread, but does anyone have a part number for the lower circular relay in question? It has a red connection on my MY04 and mine has died on me...

Or anyone that by-passed theirs, want to sell me yours?

+1 for this thread to be a sticky!

EDIT: I don't need the relay. As it turns out, the 'mirror/cigar' fuse was blown, and when I replaced it my seat heaters and 12V socket in the armrest started working again...

seems like my fuse box diagram is a bit ambiguous, but oh well... now I need to just figure out why my foglights stopped working since the track day last weekend....
