How to disable auto door lock

All of my doors lock when the car is switched into gear and start driving.

Does anyone know how to disable this feature?
TIA

I'm guessing you have an aftermarket system because AFAIK you can not do this with an OEM setup. You need to find out what kind of system you have I guess to determine how to disable it.

^ oh really?
so this is not the OEM thing? yes i also have an aftermartket alarm with remote starter.

so then i just need to get the manual for my AF alarm then.

this is a very good point since i searched all around for this option in the manual and just could not find it.

Most inquiries here on this subject seem to involve how to make it happen!

It looks as if this is a programmable feature. The process is described in the vicinity of page 34 of this manual.

Automatic door locks

This is an OEM "safety" feature. It has nothing to do with aftermarket parts or alarms. Most cars made after 2003 are going to have automatic door locking occur when you put the automatic transmission into gear. Stick shifts do not have it. I have two WRXs: one is stick shift, and one is automatic. I cannot stand this feature on my automatic.
Now, does anyone actually know how to disable it on Subarus?

Not always true. Our 2011 Honda CR-Z with 6-speed manual auto-locks the doors once speed reaches 9 mph.

The fact that stock Forester doors (at least up through 2018) don't automatically lock is the subject of a 17 page discussion in our Irreconcilable Differences Threads. We have seen reports here that it's selectable on the 2019s, but our 2019 knowledge is still evolving.

Doors don’t lock automatically when moving – Love it or hate it?
