New owner Cross Sport

Hi all, just bought a 2007 cross sports SG5. Im looking for some info and advice, as you all seam very knowledgable and i feel like i have a lot to learn.

Im looking to get a few bits for the car, and im having difficulty finding parts being a JDM import, so i though i would ask for some help. (im away from home and my car for the next week and wanted to do some online shopping :) )

Firstly im in need of some new breaks, disks and pads. What would be the best options you suggest?
Secondly, exhausts.. iv been going over and over and over websites, have sent emails (very few have come back, and with no definitive answers), Everywhere i look either has for the UK models, or the FSTI . Hayward and Scott said the FSTI exhaust should fit , but wasnt a clear answer. Im not looking for something too loud, but something to help free up the flow and have a nicer sound than the standard quiet sound i have now. Iv found some in Japan, but the cost, plus the cost of shipping is pretty steep.

and lastly.. Has anyone managed to tune the Cross sports ECU , iv looked over the forums and not really found an answer?

Sorry for a lot of questions on my first post

Welcome to the forum.

Alan has recently bought a cross-sport as well, so has already gone through some of your questions, may be a valuable source of info!

Exhaust-find out what sort your has. Three piece or four. Get under it to find out. Subaru used what was lying around in the factory.

If three piece then the centre section is a classic Impreza length and will fit. If four piece then a new age shorter length.
Backbox will fit from an Impreza but will be recessed in behind the bumper and you might have to re weld one of the exhaust hangers. The backbox is pretty much universal so any forester specific one will fit.

Iíve got a Haywood and Scott mid section and backbox in 2.5 inch resonated flavour. Itís nice and subtle and makes a decent sound. Not too loud and not at all boomy on motorway speeds.

Also check out ICP for parts. They do oem parts for import cars. I got my discs, oil filters, wheel bearings and cv gaters from them. Theyíre quite reasonable too price wise.

Welcome Richard. I would write an electronic mail to Alyn at AS performance regarding new brakes , he wont sell you anything you don't need but I also agree ICP car parts are cracking company if you can understand their regional dialect . I was on the phone to them this morning ÖÖ spending.

I have Dyslexia, if you don't like my spelling go @&%# #@*?$

Welcome to the Club. It used to be the £50 Club a while ago inflation! AS per your request, PM sent. Its hard work getting into the Cross Sports ECU, if you look at DONS KOP link to my fun it answers all your queries. Just get all mods done first and not like me and have 2 trips to the boys. Great Bacon BAPS! Is it an Auto? if so, just look at the points I have mentioned about not showing true figures. Best of luck, great motors. ATVB. Alan

60 club not yet buddy .
You will get a official invite when proven mods get to the required level.
You have to understand the 60 club is a club within a club.

Sadly I cant propose you as I am a junior member .
