Nope, it's found on the non-turbo versions as well.

Black A button confirmed for start/stop idle feature on/off. Only on non-turbo models apparently.

Turbocharged engine chart for HP and torque (JDM spec of course; yes that's a CVT only)

Tire ends up idling in climbing the mountain roads and rough when moving off from a snow-covered road, even if it is difficult to escape the control intervention instantly if I should switch to the ON position of the X-MODE in advance. By integrating the engine and transmission control · AWD · VDC, adequate control and four-wheel brakes and the driving force, we achieve a smooth escape.
So it is similar to Toyota's Crawl Control.

Memory setting for power rear liftgate that can be used if the Forester is in a parking garage so it doesn't open all the way if you set it to memorize that height setting. ONLY on top model trims for JDM. Most likely the same for USDM and makes sense being a luxury-like convenience feature.

Full spec sheet for JDM version:

The one thing I'm hoping they bring over as far as compatibility is that we can get SAP with EyeSight. JDM gets the keyless entry and push button start WITH EyeSight. Hopefully, unlike the USDM 2013 Subaru Outback, the USDM 2014 Subaru Forester can have both EyeSight and the SAP package.

:D YAY! MID displays EyeSight warnings and alerts as well!

Something is wrong with the translation. The brakes are not 15". You would need a 19" wheel to clear 15" discs.

Numbers don't get translated if they're not spelled out. Those numbers are present on the non-translated version so as far as I can see the translation isn't incorrect as far as measurements go. It's more likely a typo on the Japanese side rather than an error with a translation.

In case anybody is still wondering, yes, it does still have a giant sunroof.

New door sill keeps legs cleaner:

Old sill requires careful stepping to avoid leg dirt:

I guess this is supposed to show soft-touch surfaces or something, but it looks like they're going to have the T-mobile girl race across America with her 4G Forester XT.

According to the swedish Subaru site, X-mode is a new system to assist on difficult roads and terrain. It controls throttle, transmission and brakes. As far as I can judge, you get crawl mode, and hill-decent assist.
It is available for all engines, but only with the Lineartronic transmission.

We will get 3 models here - all 2.0L. Diesel with same power as it has today, N/A with 150bhp, and the XT with 240bhp / 350nm torque (someone feel free to translate this to what you use in the US).

According the the Japanese specs, the top 2.5 CVT trim lost around 82 lbs (rough estimate comparing to 2012 2.5 touring trim with 4EAT), but then there is a note on the weight about sunroof + side airbags + eyesight adding 40kg (88lbs) and hard to tell if that's reflected in the table... XT appears to have gained 38 lbs.

Edit: yeah I'm comparing 2.0i to 2.5i so that's not going to be meaningful, at least on the non-turbo. More confusion added.

Google Translate

The fuel tank also got smaller (15.8 gal vs 16.9).

Hope the area above the outer armrest, where door meets window, isn't completely hard plastic. (I use that as an armrest most of the time.)

Something wrong with that link. Missing part of the URL, looks like.

If the highway fuel economy figure they've listed on the U.S. countdown site is accurate (32 mpg EPA), it'll still end up gaining highway range w/ the smaller tank. (506 mi vs. 456 mi)

Steve
This is the same as previous years that have included the compact spare. Plenty of people have swapped them out for full size and ditched the foam "tonneau cover tray". This is a good option for those that want a full spare for long trip security (not having to buy a set of 4 tires out in the middle of nowhere with terrible tire selection and "we have to get moving" forcing your hand) and off-road (where a donut is virtually useless and loss of AWD could strand you).

IMO Subaru should at least give you a full-diameter donut so you don't have to do the tire swapping (small donut can only go on back) and AWD-losing fuse business. That's too much work (especially in the dark and/or rain), and far from dummy proof.

Of course they could just give us run-flats but so far those have been 2-4x the cost, 1/2-1/4 the tread life, heavy, harsh, and hard to replace because nobody stocks the model you need.
