Winnerone23's, bought built and rebuilding

Well, I typically wouldn't do a thread on a built rig...
But it has come time that I have done enough and plan to do more, so it's "rebuild thread" time..

The car is a 05 FXT manual, on the title..

Here's the screen shots I took, of the info I got on the car..

Some of the info is wrong.. Which I'll be editing, in between the screen shots.

Guess it's time to catch up..

Start with the motor.. 17k miles ago, was rebuilt with forged Pistons and fresh seals.. (it was being built as a auto x car)

After buying it on a Saturday, September 1st, I drove it home 120 miles.. after maybe 20 more miles, it starts stuttering and not getting fuel.. it gets parked, on Sunday afternoon.

At the time, I was finishing a motor and trans swap in a friend's 07 WRX. (Stock stuff with about 200k less miles on it)

Anyways.. I started looking around..
The fuel lines were setup as parallel(what a mess) and the return was ran into the Bottom of the FPR and return to the tank was out the side.. (no wonder the FPR gauge didn't work)

So the thought was, that burned the pump up..
I changed the lines to series and replaced the DW200 with a Walbro 255(which is what was said to already be in there).

Still, no fire!

We are into November now..
Fuel lines are redone, boost/vacuum lines are redone, pump is changed, and loose bolts/nuts tightened. (Including the finger loose crank pulley bolt)
I went over Everything I could get too!

It Wants to start! Then loses it..
I started to take notice to the sound of fuel going back in the tank..
So I pulled the fuel pump hanger, again..

Look at that little F$#@&R

The fix!

She Fires!!! And runs like a champ!

Time to get this thing on the road!

Off with the RPF1's! (Not my style)

I had a set of Sparco's laying around..

And bought a new set of headlights.

I also pulled the seats..
Went with a cloth rear and a pair of minty 02-03 bugeye seats w/heater elements in them..
They came in a 04 FXT that I bought and the buyer of that wanted leather (not that he really had a choice, I was keeping the bugeye seats!) Lol..

December 7th.. and LOADS of help/phone calls/texts with Mike/Motorbykemike, I drive the car into my dad's upper garage and get this thing on the lift..

Got braces!?

No, that's not all of them!
It has a rear hatch, rear brace under the floor at the back of the car, lower strut brace in the umbrella holder area, upper strut brace, front upper strut brace, and braces in the fenders.. (I think that's all of them) lol..
I also found out, it has a complete V7 rear end. T bar, subframe, lateral links, control arms, knuckles, and brembo's.. (not what the pic in the first post says)

Monday, December 10th!!!

Tuesday December 11th...
Coming back from my 9yr old daughter's band concert, I didn't shifted from 3rd to 2nd and made a right hand turn..
The car jerked and stuttered..

I drove up a couple blocks to my ex wife house and went to pull in her driveway.
Attempted to down shift to 1st and the car stalled out..
At this point I had no clutch.. 50 miles into driving the car.. ugh....

So there it sat, parked.. I went for my silver XT and came back to see if I could get anything to happen.

She has a 08 WRB Sport

Anywho.. while taking to Mike on Wednesday, he thinks it's a throw out bearing and for around 200$ and pulling the motor or the tranny, I can be back up and running..

THE HELL WITH THAT!!! If this tranny is coming out, It's Coming Out!!!

Thursday the 13th.. Maryland..

Friday the 14th.. Time to get started!

I got on the phone with Subaru and ordered some, wear parts..
Even tho the JDM trans had less then 55k miles, I'm not planning on pulling it again!
TO bearing, TO bearing sleeve, and clutch fork pin, ordered!
While I was at it, I looked for a clutch..
Find a New in box, RPS Street master clutch. 20 miles away and it was on Nasioc for 10 months.. Score!!!

Time to take out the old..
Come to find out, the TO bearing was fine and very low miles..
But the clutch, that's a different story! It's welded to the flywheel..

Yes, that's anti-seize, all over everything..
Plus it seems the LW flywheel was a little warped..

Ok so by Monday, I had most of the drivetrain, out..

Tuesday, I ran to PMP auto and picked up some things. Including a APS 70mm intake, to deal with the MAF voltage limits..

By Thursday, Dec 20th, I had the stock JDM flywheel resurfaced and started going back together..

And received a BPV from Mike.. The MAF car was not only venting to atmosphere at the boost control but also had a APS 50/50 BOV/BPV..

Friday the 21st.. I want to drive the car by Saturday!!
New TO bearing sleeve, TO bearing, and clutch fork pin, installed on tranny..

Tranny installed.

By this point, I'm realizing the AP might not be back from MKtuned, in time..

So let's get the car back together and finished up!

I had already put the new AP surtrac R180 in and now that the tranny is in.. we should get the drive shaft on, so the exhaust can be handled..

Slight issue...

Get the S&#t out of here!!! I was given the wrong driveshaft...

A little after 6pm on Friday, I call the JDM Depot.. They answer.. Great group of guys, BTW!!!
They tell me they will have to find the driveshaft and lmk in the morning..

Knowing the direction I have to travel, I contact another guy that just sold his WRX, for a OBXT.. He has a V8 STI TMIC..
I offered him a trade.. My spare STI tmic and 100$.. He's not biting..
Ok, STI tmic and 150$!?
He liked that better!
I liked it just fine, since the tmic came with another car I bought and I sold it with the stock tmic..

Saturday Dec 22nd...
I drive back to Maryland.. Picking up the V8 on the way..
I get the correct drive shaft and ready to leave..
Then, I couldn't help myself... "Let's offset my unneeded trip back down here"..

So I got a few hundred dollars knocked off the price of these.. (saved 300$ off the eBay asking price!)

V8 with the Cobb XLE BPV, mounted..

Driveshaft on and exhaust started.

Exhaust on and a new AEM wideband..

I also put a new OEM O2 sensor in..

Car should be rolling like a dream!!!

Still no AP.

Saturday was a late one.. 3:30a.m.

Got the V8 on, made a test plug button setup, mounted my wideband gauge, hooked the wideband up to the TGV plug(so AFR can be logged by the AP and read by Mike/MKtuned)
Plus LED's in the daytime running lights..
And just continually went over and back over, Everything...

Need new bulbs! Can't do the yellow!

Back at it, Sunday after church..

Forgot to mention, I pulled the whiteline rear swaybar, swaybar end links, and Perrin Stout mounts, off the rear..

The big ole whiteline front sway bar will be coming off, as well. In favor of something a little smaller.

Just waiting on Monday mail, now...

Ok, Monday, Christmas Eve day!
AP is in and lit up like a Christmas tree!

And.. Home!!!

I think I'm all up to date, at this point..

Mike worked his fingers off, Christmas Eve... I think we had 20 logs and 3 revisions in, by 11:30pm.. I sent a few more logs and got a 4th in the morning..
Had to change the 65mm APS to the 70mm APS, after the 2nd revision.

As of yesterday.. close to 40 logs and 7 revisions..
LOVE THIS BUTTON!!!

We are happy with the setup..

It might stay like this for a week.. lol..

I am absolutely Loving the great ratios, with the JDM STI Forester drivetrain!
3rd gear is 90-95mph, 4th gear is one23mph..
6th gear is 2,800rpm at 80mph on the highway..

Future plans.. As of Sunday, I'm picking up a Dom 3 gt30r.. rebuilt by Blouch 6k miles ago..
I want to go with EL headers, EWG, speed density, and AEM 3.5bar MAP sensor..

Should be an easy 400+..

Today's adventure..
Steering wheel swap, swap... Lol..

The original owner put a 04 steering wheel on.. I'm not a fan of the 4 prong.. Or just like the 3 prong better?
Out with the old..

In with the new! 07 style..

And now I have cruise control again!

Running through 1-4..
