2001 Supercharged Forester Build

Hello, this is going to be a journal of the trials and tribulations of supercharging a N/A 2.5 Forester.
So far I have mounted the Raptor Supercharger, changed the injectors to higher volume WRX ones, sent the car to the Mass Acceleration shop in Denver NC who added the new computer and harness and started the tune. During the process the shop pro (steven) found that my left cylinder bank had lower compression than the right, which turned out to be a skipped tooth on the timing belt. He put in a new belt kit from gates and righted the cylinder bank giving me even compression on all cylinders. During the road testing the air fuel temps were getting to 190 degrees so shes too hot.

Right now I'm installing a water to air setup from frozen boost to see if it does the trick. After this we will see if its cools the charge. The rest of the tune and dyno tests will begin. I will post pics of the setup as I install new pieces of the IC. I have removed the front bumper to mount the heat exchanger and plumbing. I plan on mounting the reservoir in the cargo area as it is rather large.

Yes this has turned out to be a Frankenstein! I hope anyone that is contemplating this maneuver will find help in this endeavor. Thanks to Bobby for his insight.

Does that intercooler radiator system require antifreeze?

As to where to place the water tank. There should be room between the bumper & the mud guard... splash liner? The '06-'08 relocated the windshield washer tank to that area.

There is a resevoir in the luggage compartment, it has a 4" lid where you fill it. Total circulation amount is 4 gallons.I am running water right now. I will run water wetter and some anti freeze. Today I am securing the wires and water lines and putting the car back together. I did end up running the air filter into the passenger side fender. She is ready to get dynoed and finished out.

In for results! I will be running a very similar intercooler setup on my Foz, Type 14 core from frozenboost and type 118 heat exchanger.

She is buttoned up and ready to go back to the dyno. I did a road test today and it all stayed together so I'm pretty confident she is right! I will keep yall posted. here she is in sleeper mode. I would love to find someone who punches louvers in the hood. Cheers guys and wish me luck. I will report back as soon as I get results back from the dyno runs both good and bad so everyone can learn from this type of build.

Quick update

hey guys, I'm still waiting on the shop to finish with the tune/dyno, its the busy time of the year with kids blowing tax returns on their cars and the many project cars they have in the shop already. So in the meantime my 93 legacy started acting like a fool, so I found a 2005 XT for 3,500 and have been driving that around. She is a clean machine and will prob turn out to be my DD. I def have to update the stereo system to something Bluetooth, its a shame the stereo system is pretty nice. Anywho I will keep you guys in the loop.

Hey guys the numbers are in.
Torque: 208 @ 4450 rpm
Hp: 202 @ 5800 rpm.
All runs were consistant. I am very happy with the results. The setup is very responsive and i will be doing some daily driving to see if there is any gremlins left to address. Steven at Max Acceleration masterfully tuned and setup the new computer so all the ancillary pumps, fans etc are automatic. Now for some gauges.
Any questions? I will entertain to the best of my ability.

No pictures of the dyno graph? Or pictures/video of it on the dyno?

For all we know the HP/TW curves could look like this...
