I just bought a brand new car. What have I done?!

Hello, Suby people!

I have always been one of those guys who lives cheap and does everything possible with my own hands. In my 40 years of living, I've never spent more than $4,000 for a car or truck and have always spun my own wrenches.

Today, as a Dad, husband, business owner, and more, I'm finally tired of working on a vehicle every weekend to keep my family mobile. There are so many other things I'd rather do. So, I just did something I NEVER thought I'd do: I bought a brand new 2019 Subaru Forester. I LOVE IT!

In my previous car history, I bought a 1995 Legacy wagon in about 2002. We had it until 2013 when we finally sold it at 295,000 miles. It still ran strong and drove perfectly, but the salt and long Michigan winters had taken their toll in rust. That was the single, best vehicle I've ever owned, hence the reason we decided to take the plunge with the new Forester.

I'm looking forward to being here and using all of your collective knowledge to further my own cause. :-)

Welcome! Hope you get 18 years and 295K miles out of your new Forester like you did with your '95.

We, too, bought a new '19 Forester last October as a retirement gift to each other. We plan on doing a lot of traveling over the next 10+ years. Perfect car for that!

We might head back up to Mackinac Island again. Beautiful country up there in the UP!
