My 19’ Sport is getting averaging 27 in heavy city traffic. Usually let it warm up a minute (waiting till blue engine temp light goes off) and I take off.
Some members here have stated to not worry so much the first couple thousand miles due to engine break in period and the MPG’s will level out to where they should be. Operative word, “should be.”

It would help if you give your location, area you drive in, length of trips, etc. Driving conditions vary significantly across the country. If you're doing relatively short trips in a cold climate like the Northeast in city traffic, something like that is normal.

Its been cold where I live and I know that the temp/winter blend impacts MPG. In any event, on fills where driving has been about 50/50 local & hiway I am getting 25 mpg +/-. On fills with a lot of hiway miles I am at about 28. Tanks with the great majority of local miles dip down to 22-23. Less than I expected, but am ok with it due to cold and being new vehicle. I won't start complaining until temps get warm.

I am surprised I am averaging around 21mpg in my 15 XTP. That with starting it up on three mornings this week when the temperature was 10 below zero and letting it run 10 minutes.

About 1,100 miles in, mid-twenties in rural and small town driving, Vermont and New Hampshire.

My car just past 1100 miles, last trip (400 miles) was mostly interstate, 70-75MPH, some of the trip was rural roads 45-55MPH. The combination yielded 29.69 MPG, that's calculated (miles driven divided by gallons to fill), the on board computer was saying 31.0 MPG, that's pretty typical of my previous Suby ('13 Impreza Sport). I checked the Odometer against a GPS and came up with a negligible difference, the Odometer is 0.75% high (100.75 miles indicated when the GPS confirmed only 100 miles driven).

I expect Summer driving will yield higher numbers, the warm up time and winter fuel tend to hurt MPG

Now at 29.8 mpg (mix of city/highway) after dropping to 18.9 mpg during last week's arctic vortex (same mix of city/highway but with five and ten-minute remote warm-ups).

Just under 3,000 miles on 2109 Forester Premium.

I had a 46 mile trip tonite of mixed driving. Now I really tried to get good mileage in my XT. Used no turbo.
Displayed mileage 32.7. That put actual mileage at 30.9 mpg..not too shabby.
People complain about mileage but make little effort of getting better. I always beat the sticker numbers by a couple mpg. I am nothing special..I just enjoy beating the numbers. ;)
