Yakima Loadwarrior Disassembly Issue

Hey, so I just got an extension for my Loadwarrior which I got second hand for a great deal. It's seen years of use but hey, that's what it's for right?

I have in into an issue though; as I tried to disassemble the original rack, there are 4 screws that hold the two halves together. The ones on the sides came out just fine, but the screws on the bottom are turning, and not unthreading at all.

Does anyone with a loadwarrior have experience with this issue? Is there a nut on the inside that has come unseated?

I went at it with pliers too, with no luck.

Just want to get some opinions before I cut the heads off and take a look myself...
