History of the XT (from purchase to 1-5-14)

Bought the car on 3-30-13
restored the headlights
Fixed a crazy big exhaust leak by replacing DP with oem used one

Pulled a learning view on 3-31 that showed adding a ton of fuel?
replaced front o2 with oem and panel filter with K&N

Got extended hangers and installed a cat-back and new plugs on 4-16

5-1-13 I installed a perrin turbo inlet hoping it would fix the fueling issue (it did not)

replaced the fuel filter & leak test with a air compressor

swapped mass air sensors to rule out a bad one (dident help)

^^ my frustrations in one picture

replaced fuel pump (helped some)

August -13
replaced left and right valve cover gaskets
Fixed a broken front endlink (the car turns!!!)

^^custom front badge and grille
the collection of parts has begun for the build

replaced oil cooler 0-rings

JDM key yo ^^

thats all the important stuff to catch everyone up to date
the fuel issue is still present kind of...

I likes the WRX  Any big plans for the wife's forester? How exactly did the badge painting work? Did you sand the paint that was on the plastic, or scrape it, or... I have a badge that came off my old grille, and I kind of want to paint it.

I just flipped it over and sanded on it for hours. the stars stay because they are sunk into the plastic. then just paint and use some silicone to reapply to the car.

as for plans of the xt.
the parts i have in the second post
vf39, exhaust bits, tune yada yada

just a fun DD no plans to take it to the 1/4 mile like i did my WRX

Totally derped on the future plans thing :icon_rolleyes: I just looked at all the pictures and said "ooh" and "ah", completely skipping the text. I may have to give the badge painting a shot. Well, I got no more questions lol. Welcome and can't wait to see this build! :Banane35:

spent my morning replacing both window gussets
I looked at this thread for the overview of what i was doing http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f80/how-replace-window-gussets-59527/

and I also am typing this while letting the rear diff drain
soon to be filled with Subaru Extra-S

The wind noise is gone with replacing the gussets!!! which will make road trips much better. Sense the plan is to go to the forester Deals Gap meet this year!

UPDATES

the Big box of parts arrived at my door the other day

I also received a JDM hood scoop that needs paint.

The build week is set for the first week of april. My wife that DD's the car will have a week off and i can really dig into finishing everything.

A short list of parts in my garage to put on in that week are as follows
killer B oil pickup
New OEM STI oil pan
Kartboy F/R Endlinks
Grimmspeed 3-port EBCS
Subframe Lockdown bolts
JDM Hoodscoop
sti headers
catless up pipe
vf39
perrin downpipe
sti top mount
grimspeed hoses to mount the IC
sti Bpv
MY08 wry wheels and tires
Wideband O2
Trans cooler

and thats just off the top of my head
Im also throwing on small stuff that docent require a fresh tune when the weather gets warm. I have already done the breaks, but the suspension stuff might get done this weekend.

CURVEBALL
the XT has been throwing a p0021 code!
After a fresh ECU reset and until the car learns you can almost stall it out the idle is so bad.

after removing the AVCS screens, going back to the OEM tune and checking the timing belt, I am still having this problem.

Next few things to look at are the cam sensors and oil control units on the AVCS.

RECAP
FIX the p0021 code before first week of April
Add some misc parts before April
First week of April is the build week!
I have until may to iron out any issues with the build.
First week of may is the Deals Gap meet to run Da Dragon!

As always anyone in the area is welcome to come help (throw me a PM)
and wish me luck!
