Subaru AWD FTW on nice even tire wear front to rear. So I waited probably too long to rotate tires. Did it yesterday @ 18,000 miles on the clock. First rotation since bought new in Oct 2008. This a.m. I measured the tread depth at the center tread channel (OEM Bridgestone Dueler 687's). The fronts only had 1 millimeter less tread depth than the rears. I had been relying on the full-time AWD characteristics to help keep tread wear more even F/R than on a FWD car and it appears to be the case. 1mm in 18K miles. Pretty amazing. This is a 5MT 2009, so I don't know if the 50/50 continuos torque split F/R has anything to do with it or the F/R weight bias of the car in general is more of a factor... but I'll take it.
