I want to learn more about my foz and was thinking about getting one of those chilton's or hayne's books for it, but I see they only go up to 2006. my questions are :

1) Do you guys recommend a newbie getting a professional service manual? Is it worth the $20-40?
2) Are there many differences between 06 and 07 forester? I am wondering if one of the 06 books will be close enough.

Personally unless you want to do 100% of the jobs on your Subaru including engine rebuilds, and tranny rebuilds. The Hay's is fine for your 07. I have one for my 08. That plus the info on this sight. Save your money.

Or you could do like I did and buy one from Celica-Dude on ebay for $9.00
I got mine and it is all there.
All in .pdf format.
The only bummer is it takes like 12-14 days to arrive from Canada to the US.
Other than that, heads up seller and definitely worth the money in my opinion.
The wiring diagrams are worth the money alone.
