So my wiper assembly (2000 forester) keeps falling off the posts that are mounted to the firewall, specially the passenger side. I am aware of and have done the fix that replaces the plastic bushings however the fix only lasts for a day or two of use before it pops off again.

Are there better bushings or is my issue a warn pivot ball?

Anyone have a more permanent fix?

So is the wiper arm jumping off the splined drive post, or is the linkage undoing itself on the passenger's side, under the plastic cowl trim panel?

If the wiper arm is jumping, pop the rubber cap off and tighten the nut securing the arm. If the linkage is borked, a replacement wiper linkage for the SF Forester from the dealership is under $40 and is fairly easy to replace.

Thanks. It was the linkage that was popping off. I thought the linkage was going to be way more than that. I ended up getting it off of amazon for $30. We'll see how long it lasts.

Now to try the tips on eliminating the wind noise.
