Finally found use for the Kicker KS 6x9's. I bought these over a year ago, as a set, with the 6.5" speakers I put in my other XT..


After tracing some wires and trying to figure out a way to get the 6x9 to work..
I mounted it and started into the dash..

Minus a amp to run the 6x9, I left it up to the rear speaker wiring to share the load.. (For now)
I'm waiting for sub wiring kit for my 10" sub..

I wired the positive into the rear left positive. The negative into the rear right negative.

Sounds solid and added a good amount of quality bass..
The rear quarter panel needs more sound deadening or possibly just some pillow fill..
But I'm going to let it ride, for now.

A little exhaust tip, for the day..

When your exhaust is 2½" under the bumper, it makes a mess on the rear of your ride..
Put a Tip on it!

Hella flush-ish, now!

Removed the 27mm front sway bar and some other steel..
No sway bars, as of now.. Doesn't feel much different, with the 12k/10k Tein's..

Looks naked

A little void..

Need some shankless bolts.. But this will do at the moment..

I originally noticed the car ran at about 160°.. Then noticed it was running around 140°.
So I bought a OEM thermostat.
Out with the old..



In with the new..

Car's running in the 180's as it should!

Replaced the rubber vent hoses from the head's to the metal bar on the tmic, as well..

A couple weeks ago, I replaced the 2871r with the Dom 3.. then a week of snow plowing and a week in Florida..

Then this happened...


The longer bolt is a Cheap time and effort saver!!!
It could be 90mm.. 100mm is a touch to long.
It was still in the side pocket of my Silver XT, from when I did the bushings in that.

The XT was running Amazing!!!!

Then all this happened..


Since all my parts arrived, it's time to remove what's on it!
Tomie UEL headers/ uppipe off.. since the EGT sensor had to go (no place in the GS EWG uppipe), I pulled all the guages!



The Auto Meter Nexus setup is 1 whole set.. which was great when the car was open source. Now it's AP tuned.. so time to sell some guages, sensors, and custom gauge mount!


I still need to pull the oil pan, oem oil pickup, and OEM windage tray.

Then I can start putting everything back together!

I love that front speaker install - exactly what I want to do!! I guess you're not going to use the Kicker grills and just leave the speakers grill-less but hidden under the door trim?

Thank you sir! I did both of my XT's this way.
No grills on the speaker's. I just put the door card back on.

EL headers, Grimmspeed EWG uppipe, AEM 3.5 bar map sensor, Tial 44mm EWG, is all on.. It's kinda been on.. but... Today is the first I've been able to drive it.



Just sent my first set of logs to MKtuned!

Also ordering a KOYORAD!!!

I feel like PS line protection, is a Must, with a EWG!

Had some funky things happen with my coolant temps..
So I replaced the water pump..

Luckily, I had it left over from a timing belt job on my best friend's 07 FXT sport.(I didn't like the VDC, so I sold it to him).. Just hit 113k miles or so..

Another bonus.. I already had the KOYORAD, ordered!


Before I slowed my roll.. I pulled the head unit and put my sub wires in place..

Ran the power wire through the firewall..

Then a friend pulled his 07 WRX TR didn't the garage and we started to pull his motor..
So the amp has been in hold..


After the sub gets done... It's Koni time!
I'm ready to pull these rebuilt, revalved 3k$ Tein's off.. I'm ready for a little more plush ride, to go with my handling..

Even though.. The Tein's really aren't that bad of a ride.
Tein revalved them for 10k springs.
Front setup has 12k springs, rear has 10k..

My biggest problem is the roads I travel.. I would prefer traveling them faster, with less bounce.. lol..
Handling wise.. They are Great at that! I just think someone out there, could put them to better use..

Well.. the head unit isn't playing nice with the sub wiring. So getting a different head unit.

In the mean time.. I pulled the green condom off the key ring light.. a little red magic marker.. then a red light condom.

I also noticed when I swapped wheels, that my airbag ignitor has 2 plugs.. but the 05 only has 1..
So I swapped the ignitor..


I've also swapped the ID850's and went with some ID1000's.. Some new fuel lines, as well..
Up'd my EWG spring rate, too.. 18.85psi, now..

Nothing adjusted yet, just working on getting everything back in place.

400lb rears

I'll get more pics and detail, once I get the pics..

Made a AP button, for a friend's OBXT. The test plugs are over under the darn glove box!
So I found a clean way to mount the button, for map flashing..

I finally snagged a Impreza seat, to steal the base..
Left over parts.. JDM seat base and wrx seat.

One side is a perfect match.

The other side, not so much

What! I have to cut the JDM STI Forester seat!? Umm, Ok!


A little handy knife work, is all..

Mounted..


The JDM passenger seat is like new.. It was a little on the stiff side, at first.
One neat thing about that, it will be broke in to my shape! Lol..
It does sit a little higher than the bugeye seat and not as plush. Yet it's just as comfortable and even more huggy.
Can't wait till it has 10-20k miles of seat time!

As soon as I get a motor in my new DD, I'm swapping in my IAG stage 3 plus and cam'd heads, from my Silver XT.

New ride.. possibly a turbo swap, in it's future. After I drive it during the motor swap in my 2x turbos..

01 SF with 110k..

No idea where to even start...

Got the 01 done and runs Great! Super sssllllooooowwww.... Needs a 5mt swap, at a minimum!


Now on to the real show...

As it sits...

Awaiting tires for it's own rims.. instead of the Enkie's I borrowed from my Silver XT..


Rocking a IAG stage 3 plus block and some heads with some goodies.. stage 2 cams, beehive springs and retainer's, etc.. (borrowed from my Silver XT)

Break down of the work, in the next post.

Ok.. so I didn't take the motor apart yet, but I'm pretty sure I lifted a head, at a minimum.. Had some bubbles in the coolant overflow tank.

So I pulled the STI motor, with forged pistons. Not sure at this point if it has OEM head bolts or studs..
I have studs and head gaskets. Just need to get time to take it apart and send the heads out, for checking.. It didn't like 27psi and the Dom 3, either way.

So I started on a Sunday evening.. Pulled all the pullable parts and broke the tranny to motor bolts.
I happen to have got a rain day on Monday, so I finished pulling the motor, in the morning.

At that point, I was on hold. As my Gram was in from FL and had my 01.

Since I had a bent inner tie rod, on one side, and a leaky boot, on the other side.. I decided to pull the front subframe. (I had a 06-07 WRX wagon subframe, rack, and steering knuckle)..


While I was there, LOTS happened!!!

I swapped in one 750whp DSS front axle's, and then **** hit the, well, my chest!

A shot with me under the knuckle, rotor, Brembo, assembly. (When pulling the second axle)

Oh how nice!

I did the subframe spacer delete.. after some grinding, I used the spacers, to take up the bolts. (For now)


Back to the top hat.. Not cool!!!
I snagged some new whiteline com C hats.


And a pair of new front Koni inserts.


I went back and looked at my alignment sheet again and think maybe the com C hat, didn't like the 6.5° of caster..
So I had to do more redoing of the previously built car..
Pulled the caster adding ALK's and put the non-caster adding TiC ALK's on.

Flipped the black pegs, to OEM orientation (less caster)

And only left the caster adding STI A arms.
