There is a pretty thick and dense speaker grill in door trim panel.
It just doesn't feel right :)

will drilling the grill holes larger, improve anything or i need to do more advanced stuff and replace plastic grill with cloth fabric?

something from here:

Not really. Better head unit with amps and speakers will improve sound quality.

i think the plastic reflects the sound coming from the speaker.
and if you have bought really crustal clear quality speakers, you loose something.

or not, just asking :) has anyone tested this?

Do you have tweeters? Because if you do, those are the only ones you really need to worry about as far as imaging, the lower tones are multidirectional anyhow, I don't think this would really be necessary

SuperRu did a sweet mod to his XT doors and replaced the plastic with a metal mesh. The install was super clean and I'm pretty SQ was greating increased. The stock door grills are horrible and deflect a lot of sound away from its intended target.

I have been thinking about doing some modifications to the grills on the doors of my SF. Does anybody have a good DIY?
