Hi guys, I just bought my first Subie: a 1998 Forester S.

I love it. It's in great condition but it does have wear from the 187K+ miles. I don't know a lot about mechanics so I was wondering if you guys recommend any vendors/mechanics in the South Florida area.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum from Niagara Falls! :bacon:
I can't specifically say anything for South Florida, but I can personally vouch for the crew over at Mastro Subaru up in Tampa Bay.

Best of luck with the new ride, post some pictures when you get a chance.

I first bought my Forester with NO previous knowledge of modern boxer engines, Subaru's, turbo's, anything. I found by just reading up on this forum, and tinkering around on my own, they're really easy vehicles to work on. Grab a factory Service Manual for the car (you can download them all at a Subaru Technical site), and go at it yourself. If you've changed spark plugs, oil, etc. before on other cars, you'll be able to pull the engine out of a Subaru to be honest. That's how easy these things are to work on.
