Hello all,, have a question regarding an intermitant rotational whine comming from the rear on a '99 Forester. Just had the pass. side outer bearing replaced, and now get a noise, not sure if its the rear diff. or another bearing? The noise is greater when steering left, sending the weight to the right, then when going straight, the noise stops??
Any body have any thoughts?, ideas what to look for?
thanks all,
Matthew

It's probably the bearing. Assuming that the passenger side if right, then the replacement was not done right.

Change the rear diff fluid too.

It could also be something in the rear brake assembly. If you have drums check everything, if you have disks check the E-brake assembly.
