On my '05 there is a switch that the brake depresses when lowered. I originally tapped the green wire coming from the bottom of that switch. Yesterday I ran the brake wire from the HU to a switch (instead of the brake), and the other end of the switch to a ground. My HU only senses a switch in voltage, so any switch (parking brake or otherwise) will bypass the lock. See my journal for more details...(I can't post a link yet).
