Hi everyone, first I want to thank this forum, such a wonderful place for resources!

So I have a question about the wheel fitment about my 2006 forester xt limited. I am thinking of changing the wheels and I did some research about what fits, esp. that sticky thread with some very wonderful pictures. But it didn't really answer my questions, so I need someone's opinion.

I am planning to put the 07 impreza STi wheels (17x8, offset 53, 5x114.3) to my 06 forester (5x100 hub) using 1" wheel spacer/adapter to convert the bolt pattern.

1. is it a good idea? (any hidden issues in terms of safety and mechanically?)
2. will the wheels sticking out too much and rub the fender? (consider forester is +48 stock and STi wheels are +53 but being pushed out with 1" spacer/adapter)

Any feedback is appreciated! thanks. :icon_biggrin:

Bad idea. Spacers in general aren't the smartest idea (especially over 5mm). Those adapters that bolt to the studs and then provide a new set of studs to bolt the wheel to are something i would NEVER run. Either do a 5x114 hub conversion or stick to 5x100 wheels.
