I found this PDF file online about dealer radio replacement procedures but it can also be used to identify your model number of radio by trim level, plus it also includes a drawing of the radio face (button differences). I'm not exactly sure how useful the information is, but someone might find it handy in case they are looking for a replacement radio, or possibly contacting the dealer about an issue or concern with theirs. The PDF covers every model Subaru. Here are some screenshots of the Forester models. PDF is attached to this post.
