How do you tell what model you have????
No emblem that says on the body.
Nothing on the sticker under the hood.
All I can find is Forester, AWD, PZEV

There's a sticker on the inside of the driver's door with a VIN number and date of manufacture. Unfortunately, there's no model number, but does have tire inflation info. If you post a photo, I bet more than one person on this forum can correctly identify year and model without consulting the internet :)

Model Doesn't mean much. It just designates the level of options

I typed in the VIN, and it tells me it cannot be found.
It has a 2.5L engine. AWD.
Only reason for asking, is sometimes looking for parts, it ask what model it is.
the brochure didn't help much. Seems they all have almost everything.

Where did you type it, assuming you have entered the correct VIN number?

Find the icon labeled "Vehicle Resources".

The first question is- do you have a turbo engine? If so you will see the letters "XT" in chrome on the outside of your rear cargo door.

Assuming to don't have a XT turbo, answer these questions...

Do you have a moonroof?

If answer to moonroof question is yes, do you have leather seats?

If answer to leather seats question is yes, do you have a chrome strip at the outside bottom of your doors?

On a US-spec 2015 (based on http://www.cars101.com/subaru/forester/forester2015.html):

No moonroof or roof rails: it's a base.

Moonroof and rails but no rear spoiler: it's a Premium.

Leather trim on steering wheel and shifter but no electroluminescent dash display or outside-mirror turn signals: it's a Limited.

Those things plus 18" alloys, HID low beam headlights with auto aiming, halogen high beams, pushbutton start/keyless access, lower black cladding with chrome trim strip: it's a Limited.

If it's an XT (turbo) it's either a Premium or a Touring.

Typed it twice and checked it twice.
Didn't work.

It is not a turbo, no leather seats, no spoiler, and has no moon roof.

Your 17 digit VIN number should work unless you are mixing up an "O" with and "0", for example. You can contact Subaru directly and they can sort it out. There are multiple places on the Vehicle that will have VIN information and there should be a sticker that lists the model number, engine family, and transmission number.`

Never thought about the "O" and "0".
I always thought the program would treat them both as the same.
I'll try it again.

I'm thinking it's a base model.
Would that be a 2.5 or 2.5i Limited????
Other two options are 2.5i Premium and 2.5i Touring.

If you don't have a moonroof you don't have a Premium, Limited or Touring. You have the base 2.5i if you don't have a moonroof.
