Today while siphon out power steering fluid on my forester 2009 NA, I noticed a disconnected cable below the power steering fluid tank, ABS and engine air filter. It is forked out of the cable being connected to the ABS. I asked a friend who has forester 2011 NA to take a picture of his car. And his cable seems to be connected to the air filter chamber.

I changed engine air filter several times before, but I don't remember I touched any cable down there.

Does any one know what this is for, and how could I put it back in correct place? Thanks a lot!

Got access to my friends Forester 2011, and his cable is not connected either. So nothing to worry.

@jackal Might just be for a factory accessory like maybe the fog lights. Just a guess. I'll have to look at my '11 Foz tomorrow and see if I've got one as well. Is there one on the other side?
