Was just looking through the manual for my 2014 forester and found that one of the choices for the triple meter display is accelerator opening ratio.
there is absolutely NO description of what that means.
can anyone tell me ?
a google search found NOTHING !
see page 3-44 if you want to see it for yourself

The metric, Accelerator Opening Ratio, is the used percentage of the accelerator pedal's travel.

However, this percentage is not directly correlated with the power that is requested... that is, 50% of pedal travel doesn't mean 50% torque has been requested. This metric, therefore, allows the driver to become aware of and accustomed to the relationship between their foot and engine power. It will help highlight the benefit of slight pedal movements.
