I realized coming back from an out of town trip that I had been exceeding 65 mph on the trip (up to 75 mph at times). This was during the break in period. How would this affect the Subie? Does it have an impact on efficiency or the engine? It has been 7 years since my last new car. . .

The sky will open up.

The hand of God himself will reach down and grab you by the scruff of your neck
and shake you for 3.057 seconds.

Then a cat or dog will pee on your favorite shoes... :)lol:)

No seriously, you should be fine. If you search the forum for threads about breaking
in your Forester you will find great arguments for and against. Some people say drive it
like you stole it from day one. Others say baby it for the break in.

Good luck with your new Forester...

I think the keys to breaking it in are to not hold the RPM steady for too long and not to beat on it right away. I don't think the speed will have any effect at all.

That's a relief. I was concerned it might have some impact on the overall MPG. Since the majority of my drivng is in town the mileage is not great.
