just installed new tweeters (thanks subiegal!!!) which was incredibly easy and straightforward.

one question though, given that no screws etc were required and they were a snap-in job, what happens if i open the door and it's raining heavily???

will rain get in through the gaps and into the speakers/wiring?

anyone had any experience with this???

I wouldn't be too worried about it, and if it really, really, bothers you I suppose some silicon "caulk" could work with minimal "uglyness factor"

Your interior gets wet and the tweeter explodes! j/k

It shouldn't be a problem. I have the oem tweeters too. I've been caught in many heavy rain storms and no ill effects. I will be more concern with getting in the car to avoid getting drenched out.
