I have a 2015 manual forester 2.5I and had the transmission fluid done today. They said I need a clutch and flywheel and I'm at 170,000 miles. What else should I have done while it's apart? I head some type of bearing in there commonly goes bad.

Pressure plate, clutch disc, and flywheel make up the clutch package. Also throwout or, as some call it, clutch release brg. Also should take a close look at the pilot brg tho if the PO knows anything about stick trannies the only time the pilot brg is running is while sitting at a stop lite or preparing to get moving.

Replace the clutch fork. Its about $25 from the Subaru dealer. I learned this the hard way. I replaced the clutch on my 08 Outback, the new clutch probably had more stiffness than the old, and 2 weeks later the fork failed. that was when the car was 10 years old, maybe not mandatory on a 5 year old car, but good PM on a car with 170K miles of fatigue cycles on the fork.
