Thought it would be fun to start a thread on everyday things we do here and there to our beloved Subarus. The weather is getting nicer, so I'm sure we will all be outside more tinkering on our cars.

Today has been a busy day for me! Got my Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tires in yesterday from Tirerack for the Sti and had them mounted and balanced today by a real cool guy off of Nasioc. If anyone wants his info in the PNW PM me. He runs a legit business out of his home doing tire stuff n such, for a really good deal. But let me tell ya, these tires are STICKY!!! They pick up gravel everywhere but they are SOOOoo nice! It feels like a different car
When I got back from joyriding the STi in it's new tires, I washed the Forester (for the second time this week) and finally got around to hand waxing it. Looks pretty, but boy is there a lot of bumps and bruises on it!
What did you guys do to the subarus today??
I got it muddy while I was at work on Saturday... just because you have to work on a weekend doesn't mean you can't have some fun while you're doing it.
Put on my new snow tires and wheels.
225/50/17 Hankook Icebears on gold Rota SDRs in 17x7.5. Pics up soon.
Not a moment too soon, tons of snow came this weekend with more on the way until Wednesday.
Wash, Wax, detail, changed oil, installed Rally Armour PU flaps, installed Husky liners, sprayed some asphalt undercoating in high wear areas and installed my new Michelin X-Ice 2 mounted to 1998 RS Gold wheels! big day, looks great and works better.
Drove it in a blizzard. The PIAA lights are pure awesomeness. Couldn't see more than 5 feet with the headlights on, switched them off and the PIAAs on, I could see perfectly.
Combined with new snow tires, and the Foz was a blast to drive where every other car on the road was crawling along white-knuckled.
Today I took the front bumper from my Forester to mount a metal bracket to hold my already ordered Hella 1000FF aux. lights which I will pick up next month during my trip tot the Netherlands. With only -6˚C it was I nice job to do although I hat to be carefull with all the plastic clips. Not the strongest parts to work on while it is freezing.
Today, I drove my Forester for the 4th time, to get new 205/65/16 Blizzaks. Then, after vaccuming dog hair from the previous owner, conditioned the leather. My hands smell different than they've ever smelled before; my hand smell good.
I threw in some cheap rugs to protect my carpet from the winter grim. Too cheap for rubber floor mats! Maybe I will ask from some for Christmas...:bananapartyhat:
threw parts in the back for when I drop it off at the dealership for servicing tomorrow.
New plugs, injectors, clutch (just in case that's making the noise)
tisk tisk...
I dropped mine off at the Subaru dealership for the 60k service and to track down the clicking noise. They always look at you funny when you have a pile of "just in case you're pulling this off" parts in the back of the car.
Today I had to replace the original Panasonic battery which was only 1,5 years old. What a shame. I had encountered some start-up problems during the last weeks while temperatures were dropping rapidly. I've put the thing on the battery loader and although the green light showed 'battery loaded' it was as dead as my last cat. I got a new Bosch S4 74 amp for free from the dealer. Thanks a lot.
Recharged the K&N filter, cleaned the MAF and its screen assembly. As always there's a noticeable increase in HP. Love it! Also checked and topped off the engine oil. At 2,000mi. the oil level was only down a 1/2qt. At 136,000mi. I'll take it! NAPA Premium 5W-30 w/Lucas Oil Stab. @5%.
Oil change at 29k miles with Redline. Was going to do a FMIC next week, but that's being put on hold to fix the wifey's Corolla.
