Swapped the coilovers on this weekend and just came inside from doing a 4 wheel alignment in the garage. Took me 2.5hrs, not bad considering the front tie rod bolts get rusted on and sieze. Went for a test drive and its straight as an arrow + steering wheel points straight.

Installed:
1) seatback cargo net
2) chrome exhaust finishers and
3) cargo area floor mat
All this morning. All came from subarupartswarehouse.com and arrived last night. Had to call them, absolutely could not find the "dimples" that are the markers for the cargo net mounts that require drilling a 1/2 inch hole...they are there but it almost takes a magnifying glass to locate them.

Haven't painted the mufflers yet...there is a home project (fixing some water damage) that has to some first. Darn!

That sounds dirty.
That's what I thought.

I changed all of her lubricants, and took her out for a nice drive, then brought her home, and washed her, dried her, and put her to bed for the night.

Diff fluids were gross... I think the dealer had been skipping that part of the service. :chair: ATF looked good though.

I got over 29 mpg!

After almost 2 years of ownership of my '09 FX with a stick and averaging 24-26 mpg, I did an economy run.

My wife was working this evening, I was a bit bored, so I did a solo freeway spin to the outlet mall about 65 miles away. I reset the dash mileage readout just before I got on the freeway, was running Costco regular gas (probably with ethanol) and did my best to hold speed between 60 and 65. Oh yeah, I did change my air filter element yesterday as well.

When I got home, it was reading ~130 miles and 28.5 mpg. I've got 215/70x16 tires on it, so adding 3%, this should be a fairly legit 29.2 mpg.

I passed NOBODY and spent the whole trip being scared to death that I would be rear ended and killed, so I will basically NEVER do that again....but it can be done. My wife has an '07 Civic and a 43 mile 1-way commute (mostly along that same stretch of road), and she regularly gets 34-36 mpg driving 70-80 (bit worse with winter gas).

Productive day! The rear sway and whiteline mouting brackets are on the foz! Feels much nicer around corners. And I've got a headache from baking the bugeye headlights! lol. Too much paint fumes for me I guess, but they look beeeutiful! I will put a few pics up tonight.. I also smoked the turn signals on the bugeye as well. Let me tell ya.. Blacking out those headlights takes ALOT of patience! The forester will be either tomorrow or next weekend

i looked at my forester, looked at my mods/maintenance board, actually re-greased the brakes, and then said "BALLS!" and went upstairs to play on the ps3.
