Thought it would be fun to start a thread on everyday things we do here and there to our beloved Subarus. The weather is getting nicer, so I'm sure we will all be outside more tinkering on our cars.

Today has been a busy day for me! Got my Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tires in yesterday from Tirerack for the Sti and had them mounted and balanced today by a real cool guy off of Nasioc. If anyone wants his info in the PNW PM me. He runs a legit business out of his home doing tire stuff n such, for a really good deal. But let me tell ya, these tires are STICKY!!! They pick up gravel everywhere but they are SOOOoo nice! It feels like a different car

When I got back from joyriding the STi in it's new tires, I washed the Forester (for the second time this week) and finally got around to hand waxing it. Looks pretty, but boy is there a lot of bumps and bruises on it!

What did you guys do to the subarus today??

Installed some HID fog lamps. Color is a bit off I think it may be my camera.

Used it to take me and my new (to me) Specialized Mountain Bike to the desert trails way off the beaten path.
Used it to get the pulley kit I ordered. That said I don't get why it's called a kit. The kit is one pulley. That's it. Made of aluminum ofc.

Bulbs or complete lightning units?
Reinstalled the intake manifold.

What a PITA trying to get the samco turbo inlet onto the turbo, had to make a mini "shoe horn" as the edge of the hose kept getting caught on the turbo instead of slipping over it.

Possibly the most satisfying moment when after 2 hours of wiggling it finally popped on.

Supposedly the samco fits better than the gimmick. The edge of the hose on the underside just kept getting caught on the 16g's compressor inlet. I ended up bending some wire up to make an L that I could just stick between the hose and turbo and slide around the compressor inlet to pop it on. That combined with lots of wiggling finally got it in place. If you have your tgv's deleted it should be a piece of cake though as I had no wiggle room on the turbo side of the IM.

Also got the phenolic spacers on at the same time, ended up RTVing the upper gasket to the spacer as it kept moving out of place whenever I put the intake manifold in. With it RTVed it was much easier (could slide the intake manifold around ontop of it to get everything positioned correctly)

Tgv's are still in place here. Do you think the spacers helped? Im on the fence on pulling the Tgv's and adding spacers when I pull the manifold.
