Cool! How much is "like mad"?
Right now, It's needs a quart every two fill ups or it will get well below the dipstick. It has gone up probably 50% since installing unequal length headers, but i'm not sure if this is due to the modification or my heavier foot due to enjoying the engine note and slight power gain.

Added a cheap HD dash camera today from amazon, thing works pretty well for the price, once i figured out how to set the language to english! Here's the link for anyone interested....Sticks to the windshield firmly and records decent video.

My dome light stopped working so I took it apart yesterday. Subaru decided to use a very low quality switch. The copper piece that is used to make connection is a very thin, soft and brittle, almost like aluminum foil. Looks like it tore from use. I bypassed the the switch so atleast the light will work when a door is opened. Called the dealer and had to order a whole new fixture, the switch alone can't be replaced.

took her to check to see if she needed an alignment as I take her in about every 6 months. Spokane roads are not that good, but improving, and to my surprise and delight, she did not!!! I must be doing something right. I had the brakes inspected as well, as it had been a year since I got the car, and they were last rated at about 60%. Once again, I was told they were good, just had a crack in a drum that should be replaced, actually both will now. Tires were also good. Proof positive that if you take care of your Forester, it will take care of you!!! I love my '03 Forester!!!

* Replaced a leaky windshield washer pump. Easy job. Hardest part was degunking the electric connections.

* Cleaned MAF

* Treated locks and ignition with graphite lube.

Tuesday - OEM battery gave up within its normal 3yr range. Apparently in that time Costco has switched to Interstate Batteries. $80 lighter, but starting the XT without my portable jumper is nice.

Today - Installing Brake pads... I'm not hitting the canyons/auto-x in the family truckster.... Like I did in my `00 & `01 RS'

Giving these Centric Ceramic "quiet" pads a spin. Shipped to door cheaper than OEM pads for the front. Under the same umbrella as the Stoptech series. (Per their marketing dept... lol)

How much did that run you? Thats just what I've been looking for.
I paid $200 for the kit on ebay, and $700 for the install. I attempted on my own but failed miserably.

New Katzkin 09 13 Subaru Forester 2 5 x Leather Seat Cover Kit Set Black Ebony | eBay

That's the same listing i bought it from... looks like he's dropped the price, so I'd hurry and snatch'em up.

That looks like a fantastic install job; to the untrained eye, it'd never be obvious that the leather was added aftermarket.
Thanks! I had the professionals do it, I tried but after 3 hours on the driver seat, I couldn't take it anymore. Not enough time on my hands.

stoked! 'got my superbumper installed in my draw-tite! hopefully i never get to experience its intended use! :D also got the SB spare receiver that i'll use for a bike rack come summer time.

ordered on the 3rd, came in today via fedex ground. tip: write "free locking pin per Jeff" in the customer comments section of the online order form to get one!

lemme know if you guys wanna see more/better/daylight pics of it.

I got the spare bumper shield ( flat one) installed on my 06XT. Don't you think that theyre a little too low and don't protect the bumper well enough? Im thinking about getting some offset adapter to raise the shield a little..
