The auto got like 90% on the front wheels until slipping. If your not slipping and your car is almost jumping when trying to take a turn then it seems like your centerdiff is binding(yes I know it don't have one but I lack the name for it, transfer clutch?)
not really jumping it is smooth, just fights the steering wheel.
just wondered if this was normal.

it may just be the feel since you said the front is doing 90% of the pulling.

Took a long drive with the family to get together with my son-in-law's parents and we celebrated Father's Day together. All in all a very enjoyable day.

I had an older Outback Legacy Wagon 4EAT loaner '97. My friend has a 2008 Forester 4EAT. They just feel a lot like front wheel drive compared to a 5 speed MT which always has 50-50 split. I don't like the handling feel of the auto either.

good luck with yours; i hope it lasts a long time!

I believe if you're driving low speed (as on snow) if you have it in 1 or 2 it forces auto to stay at 50-50 instead of 90-10. Not sure if this is covered in the manual or not, but you may want to check it out and know before you get in any dicey conditions where this maybe helpful.

ok thanks for the info, it pulled my trailer just fine today, sure is nice to not have to shift gears with that heavy trailer behind me. and the power the Forester has vrs. the old 2.2 legacy wagon is sweet. I am not afraid to pull out on the highway now.

the more I drive it the more I love it.

I did not do anything today. But I got a small package and I wondered what it was. Could not remember what I ordered until I opened it.
A new knock sensor for 30$ made in Turkey. Do I need a new knock sensor. I have no clue.
But for 30$ I thought it was worth buying.

Edit: Is there any point replacing a knock sensor if it's not throwing a code??

My '03 auto feels like it's pulling (as noted, that's because it is) and when my front tires didn't match quite right it really fought the steering wheel. Any chance one of your front tires got replaced after the other had significant wear?

Well oops.. I sort of went down a small curb yesterday and pinched my muffler canister a bit, soo now the baffles are loose and randomly get noisy.

So I looked online and found a deal on a local Toronto Subaru forum and am picking up a Prodrive axleback from a WRX partout. I'm also ordering the XL Kartboy exhaust hangers since it's not for a Forester usually, and I have a hitch. If still in doubt, I'll use some force for it to fit. ;)
