I don't have a 2010, but I do use heavy-duty aluminum foil to shield exhaust pipes when oil may get on them from a diy change. On my Forester, this means covering them near where the diff oil drain plug is. Diff oil smells even worse than engine oil.

Hey Woody, thanks for the tip..I think I forgot that one on the foil. Looks like I will get off my lazy A$$ and do my own oil changes...just like I did in my youth,

thanks again,

eric

Today I've done nothing. Yesterday however I pulled the engine, transmission, rear diff, front end (hood, fenders, bumper cover, rad support, headlamps, mirrors, lower body trims), interior including dash, brakes. All in all it was a productive day. Some of the wiring harnesses have to go sometime this week as well.

I picked up my new 2010 Forester 2.5X Sport-Tech today. I think that's a good start. :Banane35:

Washed, waxed, cleaned engine bay, dusted center console, installed Subtle alternator cover (pink) and JDM F License Delete (Black) w/ pink backer plate.

Pretty much, gettin' ready for S3 (Subaru Summer Solstice) event tomorrow in San Diego.

^^ We don't have any hoochie events like that around here.

Today was a few hours worth of servicing from this season's track days / preventative maitenance work

- service all brakes, clean off old grease and apply fresh grease
- bleed brakes burnt up from track days
- change engine oil & filter. Got to try out Fumoto valve and boy its great to have
- change transmission fluid

Of course, it starts to rain just as I'm about to start on the bleeding which was my last steup. Thankfully just a thunderstorm so I breaked for lunch and finished off afterwards.

Changed the lower ball joints on the front today. Made some difference.
Firmer ride, it's not sloppy anymore, better steering feel. :woohoo:
