I hardwired my after-market GPS so that i don't have the stupid plug sticking out. pix and write-up soon to come.
Ah, that reminds me. I should hard wire mine too and also buy an extra cord.

Twas a beautiful day here in Virginia. Subie got washed and waxed for the first time this year. I can't help but notice all these nicks and **** on my paint. So upset. :( But she looks good other than that! And I have touch-up paint to use sometime.

I did a front wheel alignment using a new set of Longacre plates we picked up. I hadn't done it right the last time, so this time took my time and aligned to within 1mm. Subaru OEM Spec is +/- 3mm .

Saturday morning I took apart the brakes and serviced them having done 2 track days already, replaced the front rotors with a fresh set for this season.

Last week I bled the brakes, again to get rid of fluid burnt up during two track days. Speed Bleeders make doing this a breeze.

I was going to get a friend of mine to change some gaskets because of oil leak.
Anyway we found out it would take alot of work so we decided to postpone it to later and just try to tighten the bolts. Then I notice this hose on the top and asked what it was since it seemed so loose. "that's the vent hose" then he reached for it and guess what. It was loose. :icon_eek:
It was just laying on top of the hose connection. That would make sense too because he said earlier that it was weird that I had oil on top of the cover instead of at the bottom.
So we put a hose clamp on it to make sure it don't come loose again.
I also changed the rad cap since I had a new one laying around. Lazy me.
And yesterday me and another friend added dynamat to the front doors.

So Now I have a full set of gaskets laying around that I don't need it seems.

I'll sum up the weekend. Just purchased the car. Timing Belt and related, removed banjo oil filters, replaced radiator. removed dash cluster to find electrical tape over the cruise and check engine light. reset the needles on the temp and tach to get working again. changed the oil to hopefully get the galaxy out of my oil. runs good now!...

Returned home from trip to Nebraska (vacation and reunion) putting 1400 miles on the Subie. Tomorrow-hand washing, getting the bugs off. Ready for 1st oil change. Went camping and now thinking about a pop up camper and what the Subie can pull.

It's hand wash day after hauling 16 bags of red mulch back from the Depot... Then it's going to get a solid hand wax in the shady garage..

well i was supposed to turn down the coils some today to get it to a respectable ride height... but it's 99 degrees outside and i don't have a garage to work in.

instead, i waited for the sun to go below the horizon and then promptly headed out with my trusty cordless drill to polish up the nasty headlights. still hot as hell, but at least it was bearable with a breeze and out of direct sunlight.

cloudy mess:

clearly much improved:

here's the difference, side to side:

as you can see, the light on the left has the lens all cloudy and opaque. the light gets scattered all around the inside of the housing and doesn't do you any good past the housing.

on the right, you'll notice that the light source is far more defined (there's 2 seperate and defined points of light), as opposed to one big yellow blob of opaqueness.

now all i have to do is pick up some decent bulbs to improve light output.

Pulled the washer fluid reservoir to make sure I could hack it up enough to make room for a tranny cooler with fan.
