Thought it would be fun to start a thread on everyday things we do here and there to our beloved Subarus. The weather is getting nicer, so I'm sure we will all be outside more tinkering on our cars.
(if this is a repost, please delete it)

Today has been a busy day for me! Got my Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tires in yesterday from Tirerack for the Sti and had them mounted and balanced today by a real cool guy off of Nasioc. If anyone wants his info in the PNW PM me. He runs a legit business out of his home doing tire stuff n such, for a really good deal. But let me tell ya, these tires are STICKY!!! They pick up gravel everywhere but they are SOOOoo nice! It feels like a different car

When I got back from joyriding the STi in it's new tires, I washed the Forester (for the second time this week) and finally got around to hand waxing it. Looks pretty, but boy is there a lot of bumps and bruises on it!

What did you guys do to the subarus today??

thought about it some more
Sound deadened/blacked out the wheel wells, wheels and brakes are getting painted, and saggy butt spacers are going in by the end of the week.

do you have photos of the blacked out wheel wells?
Went camping this weekend. First time taking it "offroad" Did some pretty decent grade fire roads and rooted tracks well, didnt even have to air down the stock tires....
Went to Morro Bay last weekend. Finally put in the full-sized spare today.
today... I parked in the parking spot next to my normal one, because someone in a honda Van stole my normal spot in the garage at work...
Added air to 35 lbs front tires.. 40 rear and hooked to our utility trailer to pick up a new bed in Medford.. Decided to wait a while longer when I looked at the road cam on the Siskiyou pass and saw it was snowing.. Roads are to warm for it to stick but I was sure I saw gravel on the road.. There are always those that think they have to go 90 down hill thru the sharp curves in the gravel.. Then they crash and you set there untill they clear the mess.. Just waiting until it clears seemed a better idea.. No real hurry.. The help to take the old bed out and put the new one in will not be here until after 4 PM and its only a 3 hr trip with lunch thrown in..

...also had a new front under-shield put on due to a construction cone randomly in my lane a few weeks back..
Drove it to the beach! Cleaned the sand out, and followed dad to the tint shop to get the Bimmer done. Got an update on the engine, it's getting closer... should ship out on tuesday and get here on Friday next week. Who knows... by Memorial Day, my car may be back together and running with a new heart! Keep your fingers crossed!

Replaced the passenger front drive axle. Some d-bag screwed up the cv boot while working on the brakes.

The d-bag was me.

but the axle replacement went quickly, as my friend had all the tools. No more than 30-45 min from jack up to jack down.
dropped off the perrin master cylinder brace at the shop. took some pics of the new front brakes on and the progress on the rears
Spray cleaned my engine bay in prep for tomorrows epic meet.
Today I installed a new cargo liner in my 2010 limited. It is great, and I'm very surprised how close it matches my platinum leather seats. If you don't have one yet and are interested, go to cargoliner.com Also, I'm interested in installing blind spot mirrors if anyone can recommend good ones for heated mirrors. I want to be sure any I purchase will work on heated mirrors. Any suggestions on that subject?

Tom
