pushed headliner tabs back in place, crazy chick opened the moonroof all the way at illegal speed causing back plastic tabs to come out due to buffeting.

She felt like standing on my leather seat with her 5" pointy stillettos and expose herself to the 95mph wind, I was pissed, ....nah

Finally found replacement bolts for the factory crossbars. (Original bolts rusted out. ) Now I can safely reinstall the crossbars and get a cargo basket.

We pulled the Fozzy into the garage today to start working on swapping out the old engine for the replacement one (same boring DOHC engine).

Troy took the hood off and started disconnecting the engine and I waxed the Forester (including door jambs) and Plastidipped the rear Subaru emblem :)

nasty oil

old chrome emblems were peeling really bad, so black emblems it is!

Finally got to polish the Foz this weekend. Now I can see just how many chips are in the paint... :icon_frown:

Before:

After Compounding and Polishing:

After buffing out BFWD:

The car looks great other than all the chips in the paint.

To sum up my Subaru's last 10 days...

- New front sway bar links
- New passenger side ball joint
- Fresh diff fluid, front and back (cheap Walmart dinosaur oil)
- 2x drain and fill of the trans
- 5% tint on back 5 windows, 35% on fronts (did the job myself, came out nice, $40 total)
- Squeezed passenger side mirror gussets, killed wind noise on that side too (did driver's side months ago)
- Drove 1050 miles from Chicago to Fort Collins, CO (25 mpg average)
- Went off-roading west of FTC (a frikkin blast)
- Drove 1050 miles home (25 mpg avg)
- Tightened 4 loose swaybar link nuts (guess I didn't get them tight enough, they got real noisy on the trail.

That's about it. Had a great trip. Was nice to be somewhere a Subaru is truly appreciated. Just about 1 out of every 4 cars in town is a Subie.
