Thought it would be fun to start a thread on everyday things we do here and there to our beloved Subarus. The weather is getting nicer, so I'm sure we will all be outside more tinkering on our cars.

Today has been a busy day for me! Got my Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tires in yesterday from Tirerack for the Sti and had them mounted and balanced today by a real cool guy off of Nasioc. If anyone wants his info in the PNW PM me. He runs a legit business out of his home doing tire stuff n such, for a really good deal. But let me tell ya, these tires are STICKY!!! They pick up gravel everywhere but they are SOOOoo nice! It feels like a different car

When I got back from joyriding the STi in it's new tires, I washed the Forester (for the second time this week) and finally got around to hand waxing it. Looks pretty, but boy is there a lot of bumps and bruises on it!

What did you guys do to the subarus today??

yeah, I ran them on my SVT Focus - which I autocrossed - and they were a great combo! I will be swapping out to DOT4 once payday graces me.

The best part about this combo is how long they last. I got the stuff through AutopartsWarehouse for $346 total incl. shipping.
Good bye temp tag - hello plates. DMV - a great way to start your morning!
Drove her up the hill to go mtn biking ... here's a shot from along the way to the trailhead.

Went up a little hill yesterday (first one through the gate in the morning:bacon:) to check out the new tarmac up top. Sub 10 minutes should be the new norm next year.

So ... Pike's Peak? I know they had plans to pave it ... is it done already?! Damn shame that they are paving it - that race will never be the same.

Booty work

Removed the SUBARU, AWD, and 2.5XT from the rear.
Painted Forester and pillar AWD badges Semi-flat black.
Nite Shaded and clear coated the tails.

And also applied an entire can of Plasti-dip to the front grill - She's winter ready & looks a tiny bit tougher to boot.

Installed a Kartboy short-throw, front and rear bushings a week ago, then finished it off today with a new knob....just a solid metal knob, no leather, no stickers ... nada. Smooth as my ... well, it's smooth.

Refinished a used Kartboy knob and installed it. Also swapped upgraded the gauge surrounds with silver rimmed surrounds.

Pics Here
Installed Kartboy rear subframe locking bolts and bought a new perrin catted downpipe.
Installed an sti up pipe and a Perrin catted down pipe with a divourced wastegate. Wrapped the top portion down to the cat to help keep the engine bay temps down, trimmed up the stock heat shield and re-installed it. Stage 2 done.
Tackled the spark plugs - wasn't so bad actually, but not cake either.

Replaced the brake fluid with Super Blue

Replaced the drivers side head lamp with a new one that hopefully won't fog and found a gerry-rigged wiring job/ no harness. Replaced with a new harness.
How do you like the brake fluid? Better petal feel?
Yes, it is noticeable. The pedal feels a little bit firmer, but it's nothing earth shattering. I am still on the stock brake lines and I am sure a more noticeable difference would come with braided lines as well. Overall, I would recommend doing it on your next flush.

I just happened to be working on the car and wanted to flush the brake lines and the Super Blue was available.
Today I installed an Oil Air Separator, cleaned the panel filter, cleaned the MAF, and got her a ProTune.

Long story short, never assume safety on an OTS tune and after running it, check up on your car till you are SURE it's safe.
Im wanting a jdm scoop bad! Looks great!
Thanks. I got lucky on it with a local sale and paid nothing for the paint :bananapartyhat:

Bought some General Grabber AT's today. Got them for $400, mounted/balanced with a set of 16's. Less than 2k on them:
