Thought it would be fun to start a thread on everyday things we do here and there to our beloved Subarus. The weather is getting nicer, so I'm sure we will all be outside more tinkering on our cars.

Today has been a busy day for me! Got my Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tires in yesterday from Tirerack for the Sti and had them mounted and balanced today by a real cool guy off of Nasioc. If anyone wants his info in the PNW PM me. He runs a legit business out of his home doing tire stuff n such, for a really good deal. But let me tell ya, these tires are STICKY!!! They pick up gravel everywhere but they are SOOOoo nice! It feels like a different car

When I got back from joyriding the STi in it's new tires, I washed the Forester (for the second time this week) and finally got around to hand waxing it. Looks pretty, but boy is there a lot of bumps and bruises on it!

What did you guys do to the subarus today??

I installed polished stainless steel exhaust tips, and transfered my Roady 2 xm radio and antenna to the Forester. It all went well, looks great, and I have XM tunes again. I got the exhaust tips from Kragen Auto. The brand is called extreme There only supposed to fit up to 2",and the Subie tail pipe was 2-1/8" I made it work. Total cost was $28.00,compared to around $74.00 at the dealer. I will have to post pictures when I get off my butt. Yesterday was a nice sunny day,so I was really into to being a gararge rat. Today is drizzling and overcast :-(>. Does anyone know where you can buy and how large of a yellow lens fog light will fit in the stock fog light cutouts in the bumper? Thats my next mod I think.

Installed the long awaited Momo Shift knob. I know it's just an auto trans, but it does feel nice, and I think it's good for a couple of Horse pwr. Ha Ha. Tomorrow i'm going to install the Subaru hood deflector.
A major mod....

installed the Momo shift knob

+1 Whew that was tough.:Banane36:
what did you just buy

I just installed the Subaru hood deflector. Looks good. Not to hard.
Try to make some pictures of my roof spoiler but it was way to sunny

That would be nice. I'm going to have to save for that mod. It looks good on the forester. :Banane36:
dammit..you changed your signature....I lol'd at the Paprika Red :)

I know it was crazy, but that is the actual color name on the 2010 brochure, and the color swath looked the same as my Forester. I had to decode the the paint code on the passenger door to find out is was not Paprika. LOL.
got my spt cat back installed. so happy!
Looks Awesome,as does your Fozzie. How does it sound?
I did the first oil and filter change at 1500 miles.
Washed it,cleaned the interior, and put the brand new carpeted floor mats back in ,and cleaned the all weather mats and put them up for the summer. Detailed the engine, and underneath the body(all the drive train and suspension parts).
Took mine in to get the free oil change at 3000 miles at the dealership. Got home and I could smell burnt oil. On inspection found motor oil on the bottom of the new filter and smoke coming from the exhaust heat shield below the oil filter. Then I found a 6 inch scratch on the right front fender (which I had to wax out). I knew better than to let someone else work on my car. I did the first oil/filter change at 1500 miles, and I didn't have any smoke, drips, or scratches on the Foz when I was done.

Wow Das, that's nice! I was contemplating in my mind of painting the grill insert black rather than buying the mesh grill. I gotta say you just convinced me to do it. What did I do to my Foz today? I cleaned out all those stupid helicopter seeds that fall out of my tree that hangs over my driveway from my air vents under the hood.

I hear ya. Seasons are changing. Here's a few more pictures. pull all the plastic off, and this is what you get. Well I put the pics on the 1st post (duh)

Today washed it. Day before drove to San Francisco and back 540 miles, and along the way schooled some punks in a Diesel truck that was tail gating me in a place I couldn't pass the car in front of me. When the passing lane came up the truck blew by me with all the friggin smoke and crap coming off his truck. When we got back in the twisties, I blew by him and never seen him again. Dang this thing can handle, and the high beams are the brightest I've ever had on a vehicle. I think they screwed up at the factory and put HID'S in mine.
Took mine to the stealership, to have them look at the door rattle, coolant smell, steering wheel not properly centered, with tires wearing, and auto trans making a clicking sound in drive while stopped. Dang I hope they can correct something, I miss the Foz already. I had to lower myself and get a ride home from the courtesy car from the place. A new Nissan cube. I hope nobody saw me. HA HA.
Got my Foz back from an overnight stay at the dealership shop. They fixed the rattles in the door , the steering wheel is centered with an alignment (which was way off),rotated my tires. They couldn't duplicate the clicking in drive noise or the coolant smell. Overall I'm pleased. I bought a blue oil filter while I was there getting ready to switch to Mobil 1 synthetic oil and install my Fumoto valve.
I bought a 30' nylon tow strap rated at 18,000 lbs, and two shackles. Getting ready for winter. Hope I don't need them myself.
