Thought it would be fun to start a thread on everyday things we do here and there to our beloved Subarus. The weather is getting nicer, so I'm sure we will all be outside more tinkering on our cars.

Today has been a busy day for me! Got my Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tires in yesterday from Tirerack for the Sti and had them mounted and balanced today by a real cool guy off of Nasioc. If anyone wants his info in the PNW PM me. He runs a legit business out of his home doing tire stuff n such, for a really good deal. But let me tell ya, these tires are STICKY!!! They pick up gravel everywhere but they are SOOOoo nice! It feels like a different car

When I got back from joyriding the STi in it's new tires, I washed the Forester (for the second time this week) and finally got around to hand waxing it. Looks pretty, but boy is there a lot of bumps and bruises on it!

What did you guys do to the subarus today??

drove to work, topped off coolant, checked oil level, drove her home hard, put her away wet! She didn't complain (I think she likes it):icon_rolleyes: silver 03 AT
I have an 03 foz X AT and have the same trouble. You have to be really precise when putting on a new filter. For my car you have to turn it 1/8-1/4 turn after the filter makes contact with the mount. Too much or too little and it leaks! It's been driving me crazy for 8 years. Some times I get it most times not. With the annoying plastic under shroud it is hard to tell exactly when you make first contact.

I've heard of guys putting a bat between the tire and fender and rolling out the fender to make room for larger wheels/tires. Never heard of a tool for this.
Nothing while I figure out how to get my valves adjusted with out going to the knuckle draggers at my stealership!
Bought some touch up paint to take car of a couple of specks that I didn't notice when I bought it. My quetsion is - Why did Subaru use BLACK plastic for the bumpers if they were going to paint them? Makes any little speck stand out.
would you rather they use that hideous yellow plastic?
Equally awful. Seeing as the majority of cars on the road seem to be some shade of gray/silver I'd think it would make a ton of sense to use a gray plastic. Just 1 man's opinion.

Also applied my Subaruforester.org sticker today.
Common sense isn't so common

Ran some errands for the boss (Wife), took the Fozz to my local station for a hand wash. Rubbed her Under bits with some back to black (she loved it) then took these pics and parked her.

Being that it snowed just enough to only be annoying, I decided to shampoo my Fozzies interior. In a couple of hours when it dries I'll vacuum her up and admire her lovingly.
Today I am finishing up the dash gauge install...stay TUNED
Waiting for the pics :Banane17:
Check my goose journal as a few are posted!
Nice mods but I want to see the hidden gage modz
Nothing special, drove to and from work. last night picked up an oil filter and will show her some love Saturday morning:biggrin:
Finally enlarged the rear door openings for my db651's. Next week Amp time!
Looks like you are having a blast! There are a few large parking lots near me. So looking forward to some snow.
Just poking around under the hood and noticed my Subaru emblem in my grill is cracked like someone backed into it. :yell:
Finally tinted my windows Tuesday
i did this last week. I put blue leds on the doors in my 2010 forester.

Nice job.
Finally crawled under and put a stainless hose clamp on my @#$%^&* rattling heat shield! Peace and tranquility :woohoo:
Your finish looks flawless!
