Thought it would be fun to start a thread on everyday things we do here and there to our beloved Subarus. The weather is getting nicer, so I'm sure we will all be outside more tinkering on our cars.

Today has been a busy day for me! Got my Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tires in yesterday from Tirerack for the Sti and had them mounted and balanced today by a real cool guy off of Nasioc. If anyone wants his info in the PNW PM me. He runs a legit business out of his home doing tire stuff n such, for a really good deal. But let me tell ya, these tires are STICKY!!! They pick up gravel everywhere but they are SOOOoo nice! It feels like a different car

When I got back from joyriding the STi in it's new tires, I washed the Forester (for the second time this week) and finally got around to hand waxing it. Looks pretty, but boy is there a lot of bumps and bruises on it!

What did you guys do to the subarus today??

Sat & listened to the 70's channel on XM while the Mrs. washed & waxed Blue.
I helped a little, but mostly drank beer and soaked up some rays.
What did I do:

I applied my sticker from Tuned200. Very nice.
My 4 month old son and I are trying to design a light bar. Hopefully he has some ideas.
Carefull, you may wind up owning the first Forester Transformer.
Yesterday: Drove up to and back from Redbank NJ for a Niece's First Communion. Killed a lot of insects on the way. My windshield is a mess.

Today: Hope to get in a wash and wax. Wish me luck, there are scattered showers predicted.

Done. Mats cleaned, interior dusted & vacuumed, exterior washed & waxed.
Of course it will rain tonight, but I don't give a ....

I know, no pics & it didn't happen. I guess I hallucinated the whole afternoon. Cool!
turns out I lied about today, nothing got done.
There's nothing wrong with taking Sunday off. Except for the part about lying.
Say two hail Foresters, and one Fuji Heavy Industries.
Go in one piece.
Today I installed a new cargo liner in my 2010 limited. It is great, and I'm very surprised how close it matches my platinum leather seats. If you don't have one yet and are interested, go to cargoliner.com Also, I'm interested in installing blind spot mirrors if anyone can recommend good ones for heated mirrors. I want to be sure any I purchase will work on heated mirrors. Any suggestions on that subject?

Tom
Hey Thomas,
One of the first things I did after buying the Foz was to go to Autozone & buy a cheap set of 2" round parabolic mirrors.
They are mounted on the lower outside corners of the stock mirrors with double sided tape.
I find them indispensable when changing lanes or backing up.
There should be no problems using them on heated mirrors, as the summer ambient temp in North America far excedes what the stock heated mirror can generate.

Red
Took it to the dealer for it's 13000 mile service. Oil change, filters, tire rotation, etc.
This afternoon I hope to get it to the no-touch car wash, then home to clean the windows & interior.
Have a great 4th all, and please be careful!
Regards, Red
Is it safe to install blind spot mirrors on my new X Limited which has heated mirrors? What is the best brand? Has anyone else done this?
Perfectly fine. I have 2" parabolic mirrors attached to the lower outside corner on both sides. No problems.
Great for changing lanes & backing up. Got them @ Autozone, brand? I haven't a clue.
Took Red out for a spin off road in the NJ Pine Barrens.
Caranza Memorial to Basto for those who know.
First time off road since I bought it in Oct. of 2008.
It handled well, slightly loose in the rear while cornering at speed, but that's to be expected.
Had some fun! Need to do it some more.
Yesterday; Oil change & filter, air filter, & the usual inspection at the dealer.
They tried to sell me a cabin filter, saying I was due. BS! I changed it in July.
While I was there I wanted to check out the MY11. None to be found in the showroom or the front lot.
They did have one on the back lot, caught a glimpse of it while having a smoke.
It stuck out by virtue of the silver roof rails & the new light blue (nice) color.

Today; Will show the Mrs. how easy it is to change her cabin filter so she knows when the dealer is trying to jill her off. That's my job.
Drove home from work with the moon roof open 1/3rd.
May not seem like much, but 65 deg. F on Feb. 17?
Gotta love it!
Maybe I'll do it again tomorrow.
Yesterday; Vacuumed the interior. Pressure washed the weathertech mats (they were full of what one member called the state mineral).
Ran it through the no touch car wash & cleaned the interior windows. Good to go until spring!

Today; Windy SOB. Don't know what's in store. The Mrs. is still in bed.
Rubbed her Under bits
Classic
Not what I did to my Subie, but what I did for myself.
I mailed a check to Chase Auto Finace to pay off my loan. :woohoo:
I should have the title in a few weeks.
I opened the envelope containing my title.
It's mine, all mine! :woohoo:
