What did you do to your subie today?

Thought it would be fun to start a thread on everyday things we do here and there to our beloved Subarus. The weather is getting nicer, so I'm sure we will all be outside more tinkering on our cars.
(if this is a repost, please delete it)

Today has been a busy day for me! Got my Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tires in yesterday from Tirerack for the Sti and had them mounted and balanced today by a real cool guy off of Nasioc. If anyone wants his info in the PNW PM me. He runs a legit business out of his home doing tire stuff n such, for a really good deal. But let me tell ya, these tires are STICKY!!! They pick up gravel everywhere but they are SOOOoo nice! It feels like a different car

When I got back from joyriding the STi in it's new tires, I washed the Forester (for the second time this week) and finally got around to hand waxing it. Looks pretty, but boy is there a lot of bumps and bruises on it!

What did you guys do to the subarus today??

Red-lined it for the first time in a couple weeks :icon_eek:

This. Well, I ran it up to 5500-6k. Funny thing was, it ran much more smoothy afterwards. Wanky piston rings. Will be glad to get rid of those this summer.

Also gave it a full detail... claybar, wax... the white is actually showing reflections, which is incredible. Normally you don't see them. Gonna rain tomorrow, but I don't care.

The Foz had a low tire again. Put air in it. Dusted the car off and ran over it with quick detailer. Then my sister drove it down to Corinth.
Totalled it.

I looked at my mods list, looked at the Forester, said "BALLS!", walked upstairs to play on the PS3.
LOL. I'm currently sitting on my bed, looking out the window at the raindrops falling onto the BattleWagon, beading up on the freshly waxed paint, and then rolling off. For some reason, I find it entertaining....

I guess I'm easily entertained.
I finished my radio install, painted my shifter surround, then figured out how much money has been put into just keeping the car running (no mods) over the past year, plus what is to come this summer.

Then, I went in the bathroom, bent over the toilet, and hurled my sorrows away.
Went for a small group drive(8 cars) and about 160 miles of good road, frost heaved roads and dirt/mud roads only one guy went off with his Impreza. Fun day.
It's always the guy in the Impreza.
Drove to guitar lessons in the Outback, almost got killed on the way home by a large piece of steel pipe that fell off the back of the semi in front of us at 55mph in the rain. Luckily with a quick brake, spin of the wheel, and oversteer correction, we dodged it, and the car settled back down just fine. I hate that road with a passion, and the truck drivers who never tie anything down. This is like the third time. Thank God we weren't in my truck. Would not have ended well. I need to actually take a defensive driving / evasive maneuvers course. Seems like the world is out to get me sometimes.
That sounds dirty.
That's what I thought.

I changed all of her lubricants, and took her out for a nice drive, then brought her home, and washed her, dried her, and put her to bed for the night.

Diff fluids were gross... I think the dealer had been skipping that part of the service. :chair: ATF looked good though.
Drove it to pick up Jessi for photoshoot, did photoshoot, drove home, then drove Jessi home. lol

Mah personal favorite:
LOL. We hung out at our house for a while, rode the 4 wheelers, and proceeded to find a giant mudhole. Then I drove her back to her place.

Something wrong with that link... won't scroll up!

Hush Bobby. I win the dirtiest filter contest.

Believe it or not, the fan still blew pretty nicely. Definitely an improvement after replacement though. :icon_eek:
Drove it 700+ miles, got it completely covered in bugs... let it stretch its legs some.

Got tint. :woohoo:
Changed her plugs and fuel filter.....

And installed a 2001 instrument cluster..... Now I have an outside temp display and 2 trip odometers.

I really like how it looks. The red pointers are really nice, they almost glow.

Hey, did you have to do anything special to get the temp readouts to work? I'm thinking about picking up an '03 cluster for my '00 Outback (same sort of differences).

Just curious if the sender is already there, or if you had to rig one up.
I had to purchase a sender and mount it. I was able to purchase a new one for $32.00. I got the wiring pigtail off the car that I got the cluster out of.

Thanks for the info.
Gave him a bath, finally. He's white again... not some bizarre grey color with dark lines and drips everywhere. o_O
took the engine out, then striped it down to a short block to find out why it died on me.
found a 8mm socket in the drivers side head
ruh roh!

I drove mine.
Drove it to the beach! Cleaned the sand out, and followed dad to the tint shop to get the Bimmer done. Got an update on the engine, it's getting closer... should ship out on tuesday and get here on Friday next week. Who knows... by Memorial Day, my car may be back together and running with a new heart! Keep your fingers crossed!
Un installed my custom intake.....ugh
Wha? Something wrong?
I pressure washed my driveway with it.

No, really.
