Well after 8.5 yrs and 116,000 miles someone backed into the fozzy. It will need a new hatch and the black plastic piece on the rear bumper. I’m bummed but trying to stay positive. At least it wasn’t my new truck.

I was originally thinking about taking it to a body shop but part of me wants to keep oem paint on it so I’m thinking about getting a used hatch from the junk yard that matches. Any ideas on where to look for an oem rear hatch for a silver 2011 forester in Western PA

Thanks

Thank you I will look there. That’s what I was afraid of. Plus I didn’t want it to get damaged in shipping I’m pretty picky with the appearance of my vehicles.

If you are picky, I'd recommend having a body shop do the repairs. It will be expensive, but it will be done correctly... to your sanctification. It could require additional body work to get the replacement hatch to fit properly... perfectly.

I'm going to say a good body shop paint job will be better than what came on the vehicle & it will be expensive. As with most things in life... you get what you pay for. Go cheap & that's what you'll get! :icon_eek:

No we board our horses at the guys barn so he was just going to write a check for it. I did decide to go with a body shop as it was going to be less of a head ache. My neighbor who is also picky about paint recommended a body shop that’s not to far from home plus they have really good reviews online. I took it to get quoted today and it’s going to be $1756 to replace the hatch with an oem hatch and replace the black plastic piece on the top of the bumper.
