Hi all! We purchased a 1999 Subaru to be our son's first car. He loves it and I have to admit I'm pretty impressed with it as well. Looking forward to learning more about this vehicle. Immediate concerns are a burning oil smell. The guy we bought it from suggested it might be a torn axle boot which is what it was last time he smelled it. Sure enough the boot he didn't have replaced was torn. We had it replaced right away but the smell is still there so hmmmm. The key fobs have seen better days and work intermittently. I ordered what I thought were OEM replacements and received completely different fobs which didn't work so they are being returned. If anyone knows of a suitable replacement fob I'd love to hear about it! Otherwise, this is us and thanks in advance for all the help I'm sure we'll end up needing!

Welcome neighbor. Funny, we just purchased a 2011 Forester for our 16 year old a couple months ago for his first car. Adds up to my '18 FXT and his mom's "18 Crosstrek, heh.
