Sorry if this is a stupid question. In a Forester, is it possible to use a non-turbo 2014 FB25 vin A motor in a 2013 Forester. The 2013 is a vin A PEZ. I see ebays fitment guide says no. Since they are both FB25 engine, I was wondering if the swap was possible and what to look out for. The reason for considering this is 2014 engines are half to a third the price of 2013 plus most have fewer miles.

I can't give you a definite answer but I can't see why it wouldn't work. There was a lengthy discussion here somewhere re PZEV, if that's what was meant by "PEZ", but am having trouble finding it ATM.

It does seem like it would work to me also. I will keep looking for a bit but, am leaning towards trying it. Only problem is it is the wife's car and I will never hear the end of it if it does not work.
