I think I'm going to order them. I'll blame you if they don't work out. :wink2: JK.

Only 50$/seat. They are a long ways away, but I can get them transferred to a branch near me for pretty cheap and do local pickup. Who knows how long they will take to make their way down here, but i'll update when i have them installed.

Yep, just your basic 05 forester tan interior. Seats are mostly cloth with some pleather edges that are falling apart.

This is my car:

Well, I got those 07 Impreza WRX seats and threw them in. They bolted right in. But I switched the seat belts. Other than that, the connectors were the worst part.

I'd love to swap out my driver's seat in my '13 FXT for a WRX version - for the wrap around comfort but would want to keep as many of the seat features as possible...???

Has anyone attempted this?

Will a complete set of WRX 2014 STI seats (even with the back seats) fit directly into a 2006 Forester SG (both European cars)?

Looking for some help with 07 Limited STi Seats into an 06 limited XT.
For some reason i can't wrap my head around this and most of the photos are gone or the members who have done this don't post anymore. (yes i read all 30 pages and links like @2.5x_sleeper seat swap). Just totally lost here.
The driver side my plan is to just swap the entire harness off the XT seat onto the STi seat. Since they're both heated and have airbags the only difference is that the XT is a power seat. The plugs for the heater are in the large black connector that operates the motors. Seems easiest to just move it all over and have a few plugs not going to the motors on the sti seat. Thoughts?

The passenger seat is the doom i can't figure out and @Team Scream struggled with.
-Is my only option to use the XT base?
-Has anyone used the hole on the B pillar instead of the seat frame mount point the 06 Xt used?
-Is it worth it to attempt to move the occupancy bladder from the 06 xt seat onto the 07 sti seat?

I just did a full sti swap into the forester yet the seats are confusing the hell out of me.
Any help is appreciated from those who have swapped 06-07 wrx/sti seats into an 06 limited XT. If anyone is in the Seattle area who has done this, i'll gladly buy the beer and pizza for your help.

Found this thread with similar issues.
Lots of people with 06's and struggling to figure out how to make a swap work.
Due to the 4 corner sensors i'm wondering if my only option is trying to mate the sti seat back to the xt base. :(

FWIW i made them work. Haven't checked for airbag lights yet since the car is still being built. drivers seat plugged right in, robbed the harness off the XT power seat and just plugged in the heater portions. Hoping heaters work still. Didn't swap side airbags. Hoping sine connector is the same they'll work fine.
Passenger was the nightmare. Broke both seats all the way down. Used XT base due to 06's horrible detection system. Cut the xt seat foam down to fill the bottom of the frame and laid the sti seat foam and cover over that. Took some finagling. mated to STI seat back and also left that sti side airbag in. Not sure if there's any difference in the airbags. Going to try them out. Worst case i need to swap side airbags out.

FWIW the forester seat base on the passenger with the sti seat back and sti airbag did not trigger any faults.
The driver seat i did not change anything except the seatbelt receiver over from the forester. Don't think i'd go down this path again just due to the pain in the donkey it was, but pretty stoked on the 07 limited seats i have now.

Can anyone re-confirm that the passenger 04-07 STI seat (blue/black, side airbags) fit in the forester? I've had the drivers seat installed for a year or so and finally installed the passenger seat yesterday. I also swapped the air bag sensor and cabling. My problem is the seat STI seat rails don't appear to line up with the foresters mounting. I can get the front 2 bolts in, but the mounting on the transmission/exhaust tunnel has a pretty large gap. Before I go through the trouble of swapping the rails I'm trying to confirm.

Edit: I must have been rushing the fitment. I tried again the next morning and everything aligned with some massaging.

Hi Guys, thanks so much for the info in this thread, was invaluable

So i just swapped MY15 Standard WRX leather Electric Seats ( not Heated ) into am MY14 SJ Forester that had manual controls for drivers seat. Went really smooth. I bought the plug from the wreckers for the electric seat power ( cost extra $50 as they cut off the loom ). I ran power from the heated seat 15 amp fuse ( unused ) in the fuse panel to below the drivers seat, earth was available under the carpet so used that. Kept the WRX rails on the drivers side, swapped the seatbelt prong over and all worked great, maybe 1 hour with wiring. Passenger side swapped the rails from the forester seat to the WRX seat ( 5 nuts ) , swapped the seatbelt prong and bolt up. Everything works fine, no ABS or Seatbelt lights. Height is fine on the drivers side for me, i am 183cm . Very Happy, So much better.

Swapped in 2005 XT Premium seats into my 2007 Impreza wagon, both front (heated) and rear seats. front are physically a direct bolt in and the airbags are the same in the seats, passenger seat just swapped the rails to retain Impreza seat height and slid the occupancy sensor out of my old seat and put it in the same location in the XT seat. No lights and everything works as intended, also unbolted the seatbelt buckle and swapped it.

Driver’s seat was powered and I could have bolted than in if I wanted but I would have lost the rail position sensor and seat height would have been to high for me (being 6’3”), so swapped the cover and heater unit on the seat back from the xt and the cushion and heater from the XT to the Impreza base. I cut out areas for the metal side boslters to go and got 70% of the straps hooked onto the frame for the cushion, but with all of the bolts for the seat back and plastic covers it’s held in just as tightly. Looks OEM and gives good support and comfort. Wished I could have swapped in the power portion but honestly doesn’t make that big of a difference as I rarely adjust the seat anyway.

The back seat bolts in fine, just had to get the center hinge that attaches the back and the two latches that lock the seat into the upright position, the Forester and WRX ones have the same bolt pattern so it’s a swap. I wish I had also grabbed the lower side pieces where the metal rod fits, but I didn’t so I just ground off the nub that sticks out on them and used the WRX ones with no problem.

TLDR: 05 XT in a 2007 Impreza Wagon are compatible and not too bad to swap

I have a 2007 FXT Sports with cloth heated seats but manual adjustment. I have the opportunity to buy the interior out of a 2007 XT Limited which is heated, leather and power drivers seat. All seat controls are on the seat themselves. Does anybody know if the connection for the heated seats also powers the power seat adjustments or if the wiring is there for a power seat despite it being a Sport? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a usdm 05 xt with leather power and heated seats. I picked up a sweet set of usdm 15 STI front seats. Scrolled through the pages of this thread, and didn't really find any info if anyone has done this swap. I was able to get the wiring harness cut on the body side about 7 inches for all the wiring on the sti seats. I know there will have to be rail swaps/modification along with the female seat belt. What about the air bags, power driverside, and seat heaters? Can they just be wired into my 05xt body harness or do I have to swap out the air bags? Any help is appreciated.

Update to my questions above.
I was able to swap in the 15 STI seats without major issues. Passenger side took the longest, due to having to swap the heater/prescense bladder, and air bag. Driverside only had to swap the air bag, and wire in the correct connectors to retain heaters, and all power functions.
Had to cut the sti feet off, cut and weld the forester feet onto sti rails. Shortened the feet also about 1 inch so seats didn't sit too high.
Also had to swap for the forester female buckles.
All and all it took about 5-6 hours.

So many replies and posts / comments. I am yet to see if they are a direct bolt for bolt replacement or does it require simple case of removing SF forester (for example) seat rails of OEM Forester seat and then installing them onto the WRX/Impreza or other vechicle seat be it sg/sh etc etc

I just wanted to share my experience about installing 2016 WRX seats into my base 2017 Forester as well as converting the rear seat to a Limited leather seat and limited sliding armrest. I picked up a set of used 2016 WRX seats for $250 to improve on the base seats. The goal was to have them bolt in and still be the proper height, have everything work(heat, airbags, power functions) and look like a factory install. I ended up having to use both Forester seat bases and swap the WRX seats onto them. This meant the fore/aft adjuster on the driver's seat would be manual, but everything else would be power. The driver's seat was fairly easy, there are 4 torx bolts that secure the height adjustment setup and the whole base can be swapped out. I used the Forester seatbelt latch and wiring and I grabbed power from the fuse panel(from the door lock fuse) for the 12V always on power. The passenger side was far more difficult in that i had to swap the wrx foam and leather cover onto the Forester seat base but in doing that I needed to swap over the Forester heated element and occupancy sensor pad onto the WRX seat foam. Once that was all swapped over I was able to bolt the WRX seat back to the Forester frame. This was the hardest part to accomplish but the only way I could make everything work as Subaru intended. While doing this I also picked up a full rear seat and sliding armrest from a 2016 Forester Limited and installed it at the same time. It was a very easy bolt in and finishes off the WRX seat swap nicely. Plus the sliding armrest is a necessity as the stock one was much too short. If you have any questions or need more pics I'd be happy to help.
