[Sorry if this is in the wrong category - I'm a newbie]

My 1998 forester started acting funny and was wondering if anyone had a quick fix for it --

Yesterday the front turn signals and the back lower brake lights started flashing about once a second for a minute straight, then quits for 10 seconds, then starts again.

The car wouldn't start, no dash lights or anything, and the stereo ejected my cd all by itself. Finally got the car started and brought it home, but it's still doing the blinking thing unless I disconect the battery.

I've pulled all the fuses to no avail - interior and under the hood. I've been having trouble with the headlights, so disconnected those to take them out of the loop.

What would cause this weirdness in the electrical system?

Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks

Did you connect two green plugs under the dash that were initially disconnected?

It sounds like your security system is going off, but someone unhooked the siren. How old is your battery? Maybe it needs charging / replacing. I would have that tested first, then reset the ECU. The CD ejecting is definitely weird, never heard of that one before.
