I am not sure if it is exactly the same but I would not think it could be too far off considering the Forester's roots. Alot of Subaru's systems are shared between models so even if it is not perfect, you can usually find a way to make it work.

There is really no need for a turbo timer on a stock turbo though.

If you do drive hard enough to feel you need to let the turbo cool down then other componants will need to cool down too like brakes and such. Brakes in particular are best cooled down when moving so you don't get hot spots from the pads resting on the rotors. The whole car will cool down better when moving too. Just drive a few blocks easy before you come to your destination. A turbo timer on a subaru only wastes gas IMHO.

I know a lot of people install them just to feel a little better, just in case. I suppose there is something to be said for that too.
