Trouble with 99' Forey - gear shift broke

I have an automatic 1999 Forester. It has been working fine with the previous owner since 2002. I recently inherited it and shortly after, the gear shift broke. I had to remove the handle and manually move the stick to move it from drive to park. Pictures are in the Google drive linked as they were to big to upload and apologies for not being more clear as I don't have much car knowledge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :thumbsup:

Did you try attaching the pictures as thumbnails?
